Muccioli just fouled out and I heard there was a technical in this game on a Pioneer also that just happened.

No surprise on the Pinky win over Alvirne. The Broncos are officially playing a season opposite what they have the last 3 years. They are dropping like Luca Brasi in the Hudson River in the Godfather.

Final: Trinity 62 South 55
Trinity was 28 for 38 from the FT line.
South was 9 for 11 from the FT line.
Me thinks we all might hear from G-Bear about this big statistic from this game.

Wow, close games, hard play, concussion tests, technical in the BG game and the Trinity game.
Can you tell we're getting closer to playoffs?

Re: Feb. 21st Games
Sistare missed the last 11 minutes of the 1st half. He came back to play in the 2nd half.
Lauderdale had about 6 blocks in the first half.
Muccioli finished with 17 points.
Giampetruzzi had 15 to lead Trinity. Gabriel had 12 (10 of the 12 points came from the FT line). Sistare had 10. Keefe had 8 and Hamel had 6.

Re: Feb. 21st Games
With that Winny girls win over BG and Winny holding BG under 50 it looks like Coach Beattie had a good defensive game plan for Green tonight.
The #1 seed for D1 girls is now officially totally up in the air.

Re: Feb. 21st Games
Alvirne tied up the score several times in the second quarter but never had the lead. Pinkerton was up 21 to 19 at the half. Alvirne was forced to foul in the final minutes and Pinkerton hit their free throws for the 56 to 47 finish.

If Londonderry makes it to the Final Four I will paint my face blue and ride into the Lundholm gym on a white stallion.
GNG will be bringing up the rear riding on a little green and gold pony.

Re: Feb. 21st Games
At one point the fouls were 18-5
Trinity hit out side shots in the third quarter and that is why they won and they played good D as well
Keefe was all over the court again

North/Merrimack
I was at this game. Gauthier is one of the most exciting players I have seen in a while. He's super fast, a tremendous ballhandler and he throws highlight reel passes that are on the money. He doesn't have to score alot to control the game, but when North really needs him to score he can pull up for 3 or do a crossover dribble and drive in for a lay up. Javon Williams played one of the best, error free games I've seen him play. He's so athletic it's scary. And tonight he hit a couple jumpers too. Kid has crazy ups and he just explodes to the rim. Jake Mellin is a good player with size and strength. Anthony Farmer is a good 2 way player that coach Lane really loves. Mike O'Connor is another good big guy for the Titans. They have one of the best 1-5 starting 5's in the division. Depth is an issue.
Merrimack played well in this one too, they just fell short to a hot team at home. The Gendron brothers were good as always and Jared Peabody had one of his better games in a while. Jeff Gianelli had some big rebounds and putbacks. Brad Jarry also played well. Jackson King joined Dimitri Floras on the bench with broken wrists. Props go out to WMUR's Jason King for attending the game in Nashua even though his son wasn't going to play. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that. According to coach Goodridge, the hard cast is off and the hope is Dimitri might be OK to return to game action by tournament time. At what percent health is a question mark.

Re: Feb. 21st Games
No surprises tonight in D-2 action. Took a ride to Durham to see Portsmouth vs. Oyster River. Should have stayed home to see a more exciting PHS / OR girls game. The PHS boys defeated Oyster River 63-26. Granted, it's a bit of a down year for OR, but the Portsmouth defense was absolutely stifling. Portsmouth held OR to four points in each of the first three quarters. OR's score by quarter was 4-4-4-14. This was the first game that Portsmouth had every player dressed and healthy.
Saw that Brady beat Milford 41-40. I believe that mathematically eliminates the defending D-2 champions from making the tournament. My, how the mighty have fallen.

Re: Feb. 21st Games
Sounds like Pete wishes he didn't pick North to finish 6th in the contest.
Don't understand the props to King. I am sure the Floras's were at the game. Heck I saw Jim Floras at the BG- NORTH game. Not a big deal for parents to go to the games after their kids get hurt. I think it is more of a big deal if parents DON'T GO to the games after their kids are hurt.
I believe the best way to try and beat North is pound the ball down low. Get their bigs in foul trouble.

????
Trinity was 28 for 38 from the FT line.
South was 9 for 11 from the FT line.
I started a thread a short while back...Is it basketball.....
[/i] suggests that losing control could have been the case. Did Trinity play a lot of zone? How does Keefe teach his kids not to foul? I know in the North v. Merrimack contest, the speed of the game seemed to be too much for the officials at times.

Re: Feb. 21st Games
The Forum has been very silent this basketball season with regards to talk about refereeing.
Teams, coaches and fans that lose will always have a bone to pick with officiating. That's always been the case. These arguments usually degenerate into personal issues and doesn't come off looking very good.
Last year we dealt with a Forum member who criticized basketball officials ad nauseam. That member was censored time and time again. We will not go back to that time. If you keep posting inflammatory and personal criticisms about officials and officiating. It will be edited.
Last night a Forum member made a personal attack towards referees and blatantly called out a player on another team. That was edited and any similar posts will be edited in the future.
Forum members can talk about officiating in a basketball game in a mature and respectful manner. The problem is once you cross the Forum line then it becomes tough. We welcome player, coach and referee talk as long as it's respectful.
Thanks for your understanding.
