Re: D2 Saturday Night
I agree, that not having any bench scoring is a little startling, but they have people such as Lakin and Philbrick that can come in and provide offense. The reason they didn't score is because Jovi P played about 2 mins? and that's probably being generous, and Lakin didn't play at all neither did Moore who is more a defensive specialist. Those 3 usually play a lot more minutes, I thought coach should've gotten at least Lakin in since he's a very good 3pt shooter, and Milford was struggling with the deep ball, I don't think he'll go away from his bench like that again. The other bench players that played were Sophomore Ben Smith (big man) who is very young and was more in there for boards and post D as Kyle was in Foul Trouble and Dan D who again is another big body to bang, who is not really known for his scoring.

Milford at UNH
You bring up some good ideas on Lakin. I like the kid, sometimes it seems to take a while for him to create space for his shot. He needs time to set and square which is what you want, but it takes him time if you know what I mean. He doesn't just let it fly. He needs to have a double-team on another player to be open. Jovi Philbrick is a solid player, he is not a scorer though. He maybe in the future but not right now. He is a tough defender, along with Moore. Only Dan D and Jovi have experience up at UNH. Maybe the fact that Jovi started last years championship will be a relaxing thing for him.

Re: D2 Saturday Night
I agree it takes Lakin some time to get his shot off, but when his confidence is going he's able to hit with a defender there. Jovi doesn't show his offense but it's there I think he lacks confidence in his offense maybe he feels he needs to distrubute the ball because he's usually out there with Mike O, and Jamie? Not sure why but he has the offensive skills to score just never shows them.

Wednesday
If I am reading my hard copy of the Nashua Telegraph correctly the Milford Spartans are playing Souhegan on Wednesday at UNH. Now before the entire basketball fan population corrects me please understand I know that the Spartans play Pelham and the reason why is the brackets freeze and do not change once the tourney begins. So the Telegraph is incorrect. Now the question is, since I now have to pay the big money for the telegraph do I have the right to complain that the quality sucks... sure I do!

Re: D2 Saturday Night
Do me a favor ChiKid. Can you tell all your D2 people not to bring in those balloons or what ever it was that set off the fire alarm at UNH last year in the Milford - Portsmouth semi final game? As much as I enjoyed talking to the Milford players outside on the UNH deck during that half hour interlude I don't want to do it again. Come to think of it, I was being verbally slammed on the UNH deck overlooking the football field during the fire alarm by 2 of MY PEOPLE (who know who they are) for my pick of Zach Mathieu for POY. He scored around 66 points in his next 2 playoff games.
So, on second thought, bring the balloons and set off the alarm again because it was kind of cool being on that UNH deck.

Come on T and F
Come on T and F, you have already asked for a Milford shirt for UNH so if you think you got harassed last year... lol I am ready to make my picks for this round for D1 and D2. Anyone want to take a wild guess who I am picking in D2? I still have BG and Milford winning it all but there are some great games left in this tourney. My guess is all 4 games Tuesday and Wednesday could be decided by a total of 20 points. I do not see any game being a blow out and maybe even a few more Overtime specials to remember for sometime.

Re: D2 Saturday Night
You are not one of MY PEOPLE who ostracized my Mathieu POY pick.
Because I'm all of a sudden in a good mood and have a second wind from a family thing I will tell you the initials of the two MY PEOPLE people who verbally rousted me on my Mathieu pick:
BB and JL
I still love these 2 MY PEOPLE people

BTW - I want it all. The Milford shirt. The BG shirt. Balloons setting off fire alarms. Surreal experiences at UNH. Biblical basketball games.
I want it all in an Epic sort of way.

Re: D2 Saturday Night
One more thing ChiKid. I know you sit about 55 rows back when you go to UNH, so how are you going to absorb and comment on rules interpretations when you TOTALLY screwed up on that backcourt call at Central - Salem when you were 1st row and 10 feet away ??

That was great- my pal Dan, who calls the games with me, couldn't run over enough women and children fast enough once he thought there was a fire. I stayed on the air as long as I could to give the producer kid time to get something else on the air for a few minutes.

Visual Proof
In order to make a call you need visual proof, right now our visual proof of that call is the same. I say back court you say no backcourt... no proof no pudding... I am confident however it was yet proof again that the eyes do go as you reach 50...

Speaking of visual proof.....
....I now have visual proof as to why you have such a hard time with rules interpretations on the court

By the way...
By the way did you ever find your glasses? I do not know what I will do when my 20/10 vision diminishes to that of a normal human. The thought of being normal will be so new to me.. lol

I wouldn't miss it..
I Wouldn't miss it for the world. If you have trouble seeing any of the lines just yell I will explain why they are seem blurry to you at this stage of your senility.

To be perfectly honest with you I saw a lot of blurry senility coming out of the Town of Milford this basketball season.
PS - I have been impressed with your sudden procuring and adeptness of the use of the English language this season. The constant usurious of hitting the keyboard has transformed you into a seasoned verbalizing pro that now matches the loquacious personification you have shown us in years of previous posts.

I had to laugh
I had to laugh as I drove home from Billys on Friday. It was very unusual for myself to be the least outspoken person at a basketball round table when it comes to the topic black, white and whistles. I found it hilarious that many of my feelings that have been shared over the years reiterated (repeated) by some of the best basketball minds in the area. Made me realize that even an eagle can be treated like a pigeon if he is surrounded by the wrong turkeys! lol

That was your selective hearing at work at Billy's last Friday. It's a perfect match for your selective visual evidence.
