Former Seacoast HS stars facing off in college tomorrow

Post  JT_nh_hs_fan on Sat Dec 31, 2011 12:36 am

I have not had as much time to post here this year so far, but got a call from a friend yesterday who told me about a game tomorrow in Worcester.

Former All-State players Chris Petzy of Exeter, now a senior at St. Joes of Maine and Matt Carr of St. Thomas now a senior at WPI will lead their respective teams into battle on Saturday. WPI is ranked in the Top 25 and St. Joes is 6-1.

I watched this game online on Sat. Petzy and Carr did NH basketball proud as both played very well. Chris Petzy scored a game high 19 points to go with 2 rebounds & 2 asists. Matt Carr scored 16, pulled down 7 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 assists.

They both provided some fireworks at the end of the first half. Carr grabbed an offensive rebound and scored as he was fouled with 3 seconds left, then St. Joes inbounded and hit Petzy who drained a long 3.

WPI won the game 68-58.
