Here is another example of anyone beating anyone on a given night in Division 1 Ball - Keene 65 Exeter 63. Must have been that long Route 101 drive for Exeter.

Re: Feb. 4th Game Results
What an atmosphere it was @ Souhegan standing room only and there gym is far bigger than Milfords and still was that packed. And as far as fans go for the first time in quite a few years i'll have to give it to Souhegan. On to the game.
After driving around for 5-10 minutes looking for parking because I was running late, the score was 17-14 Milford. In the time I missed heard from a few different people that Mike O had broken out of that dreaded slump and got off to a good start. This game again was very physical and there was one altercation late in the game and I'll leave it at that but for the most part typical things you'd see in a rivalry. I said on my other post the X-factor would be the Milford bigs hitting the boards so Holder and Mike O could get out and run. In the first half you would've thought it was the 3 guards playing against 5 of souhegans players. Bigs were non-existent at the time. Hession, Redman, Gilligan and crew were all over the boards offensively and defensively. As I said this Souhegan team is different with Gilligan not saying it's a bad thing because that was the best game I've seen him play against Milford since he's been there. He got to the hole pretty much at will. Milford really had no one defensively to stop him.
Milford may not have had anyone to stop Gilligan but Souhegan had no answer for Holder. I felt he could've and pretty much did get whatever he wanted, Jumpers lay-ups what ever. Mike O continued to play well throughout the game getting himself easy looks and getting to the rim and not settling for the jumper. I thought Len played Mitchell well, denied him from getting the in bound pass and making Mikey work to get the ball, but once he got the ball Mitchell was the floor general. Got absolutely everyone good looks, and I think if he wasn't as unselfish as he his he could've had a big game scoring as he got open looks for himself. I was really impressed with Redman for Souhegan, kid brings a lot of energy to the team does a little of everything. Souhegan went into half with a 33-30 lead.
As for the 2nd half Milford took over in the 3rd with a combo of solid d, and FINALLY Holder and Mike O got to run a little bit and that was huge in this game. It was a combo of the bigs playing far better for Milford and an odd strategy by Coach Heaney in not playing Hession at all in the 3rd (he may have but I don't recall seeing him at all) and sparingly in the 4th. Milford lead after 3 unsure of the exact score but it was by about 8-10. Milford came out and extended the lead to about 14 which was the biggest lead of the game for either team. Then Souhegan got a bucket followed by a Gilligan steal and a huge dunk. Place went nuts Souhegan players were very emotional. With the place still rocking a Souhegan player (I was shielded so I couldn't see who it was) took a charge and the place continued to go nuts. Milford kept there composure and didn't let the lead go any lower then 6 or 7. It came to the point where Souhegan had to foul and they did, but boy Milford couldn't hit there freethrows probably were 5-15 or at least it seemed like they missed that many, but Souhegan couldn't take advantage of it and Milford pulled out a great game against Souhegan who in my mind is atleast in the top 4 if not the second best team in Division 2.
Mike O finished with 20-25, Holder was around 20, Gilligan probably finished with around 20.

Newmarket/Derryfield game was a blast. Newmarket won by 4 or so. I'll have full write up on NHSportsPage later tonight.

Re: Feb. 4th Game Results
Didn't want to get into to it but a Souhegan player was talking after a whistle said something to a Milford player, another Milford player came in and said something the 2nd Milford player was then pushed by the youngman from Souhegan. It was at the baseline ask your son about it, because I'm leaving it at that.

Could be a possibility for me to go after I adjudicate. I won't be too far away in the Gate City. It depends upon how many tacos and margs you have.
