I know its bball season but Shrine Rosters were announced!
Roger Brown from nhfootballreport.com wrote up this small article/roster announcement.
Twenty four schools are represented on the 2010 New Hampshire Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl team, which was released Tuesday.
This year's game will be played Aug. 7 at Windsor (Vt.) High School. Practice for both New Hampshire and Vermont will begin July 29 at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden.
Ken Sciacca, who resigned as Kennett's head coach following the 2009 season, will serve as New Hampshire's head coach. This will be the eighth time Sciacca has coached in the Shrine game, and his third time as New Hampshire's head coach. He guided New Hampshire to victories in 1979 and in 2003.
Essex coach Charlie Burnett will coach the Vermont team.
The Vermont roster does not include quarterback Max Librizzi, who guided Essex High School to the Division I state championship last season. He threw 45 touchdown passes and was selected as Vermont's Gatorade Player of the Year.
Librizzi is scheduled to continue his football career at Holy Cross.
New Hampshire leads the series 41-13-2.

Re: I know its bball season but Shrine Rosters were announced!
As reported by our friend Roger Brown over at NHFootballReport, Mike Montville has an arm injury and won't play in the Aug 7 Maple Sugar Bowl. Can't really blame him as he's headed to the Maryland in the ACC on a full boat baseball scholorship and does not want to jeopardize that.
Here's a link to his article: http://www.nhfootballreport.com/2010/07/montville_replaced_on_shrine_r.html
Manchester Central's Lquan Desir will replace Montville.

By the way NH holds a SIGNIFICANT advantage in this game, which is not surprising, VT is far from a Football state.

NH team working very hard in practice. Players are sore. Intra squad scrimmage should be pretty cool tomorrow at 2:00.

NH won today 34-20...write up tomorrow from Burlington Free Press I'm sure. Did NH cover this event? Doubtful.
Re: I know its bball season but Shrine Rosters were announced!
Roger Brown of nhfootballreport wrote up something, highly doubt any of the nh newspapers made the trip unfortunately.

I took the ride
I took the ride with some friends. It was not good football for either side team. Strange rule.... NH was up 20-0 and VT scored a TD & Xtra point to make it 20-7. NH then had to kick the ball back to VT because they were up by too much!!

Re: I know its bball season but Shrine Rosters were announced!
Terrible game is right. Penalties, turnovers and mostly uninspired play on both sides of the ball. NH had better team by far but what do you expect with 54 Varsity teams compared to 36 from Vermont to choose from. From the feedback I received great week before between the NH players getting to know each other after banging hats for 4 years. It also gave the players from lower divisions a chance to prove themselves with the higher division teams' players which they definitely did. Terrific experience for a great cause just a terrible game! Ten point rule with any team (NH) up by more than 10 that team always kicking off after a score...

I'm actually SHOCKED at the amount of coverage this game got compared to the Rotary BBall game. I think it's great though. Common theme is BIGGER field/stand/accommodations for media, etc. There's only so much you can do at small rural high school in Vermont, I mean cmon. They could've gone to Norwich College, Plymouth State, Dartmouth...the list goes on.
Great to see NH dominating, 10 in a row!
