McDonalds Rosters Released
McDonalds All American teams announced tonight and I have never seen it so dominated by the east half of the country. Only three players are from west of Illinois. Check out the rosters.

Next Yr there is a very good chance you will see NH's Kaleb Tarczewski on the rosters.
Former Celtic Coach John Carroll has helped this kid tremendously.

Re: McDonalds Rosters Released
"Fifth-Year Players
The selection criteria to be named to the McDonald’s All American High School Basketball Team adheres
to the rules and regulations of the National High School Federation which states that once a
student/athlete enters his/her ninth grade year, he/she has four consecutive years to complete his/her
high school eligibility. Therefore, Fifth-year players will not be eligible to participate in the McDonald’s All
American High School Basketball Games."
Based on this any kid that reclassifies is not eligible to play. If the McDonalds game stuck to the criteria for picking the All-American team then there will be a lot of notable names left out of the game.

So by that being the rule does it eliminate Kaleb as a candidate next year?

Re: McDonalds Rosters Released
I would say yes technically, but other 5th year guys have played in the game in the past (Tristan Thompson, Alex Oriahk), while other 5th year guys were not invited (John Wall, Will Barton). They seem to have rules, but not follow them anyway. My belief is take the 20 best kids entering college (a la the Jordan game). Reclassification is too prevalent now, so trying to figure out who did and who didn't will require the CIA/FBI.
Do you really think McD's won't want Kaleb, Alex Murphy, or Andre Drummond in their game?? Guess only time will tell.

kt is eligible
kt should be eleigible to play based upon the official eligibility rules outlined by the mcdonalds allamerican website. it reads as follows
http://www.mcdonaldsallamerican.com/selection_process.pdf
Fifth Year Players
Only true seniors are allowed to play in the McDonald's All American Game. Players are only eligible once
during their high school career to play in the game. Any player repeating his senior year will not be able to
participate, although if a fifth-year player had only repeated an earlier year (freshman, sophomore or junior),
he will still be eligible to play - as long as it was not his senior year that he repeated. Fourth-year seniors
attending fifth-year preparatory schools are also eligible to participate.
since kt is not repeating his 5th yr and reclassed before his 5th yr he is eligible
sorry catdogbob.

Re: McDonalds Rosters Released
That was the process in 2006. Look at the rules for 2011....
