January 26th games
BG at Salem: BG has to avoid "look ahead to Merry-itis" while Salem could use a big victory to get their season jump started. With Green out it'll be interesting to see if Gallant has a big game.
Londonderry at Winny: The Lancers have played a tough schedule to start, but with the way Class L is this year, every team seems to have a tough schedule. Winny looks to stay near the top of L.
Central at South: An interesting game between 2 teams looking to seek an identity in the standings.
West at Pinkerton: If there was one game I could attend tonight it would be this one. This is an intriguing matchup between 2 teams that will make a lot of noise in L.

Final Pinkerton 64 West 50
Valentin of West was ejected from the game as he was involved in a physical altercation with Proulx of Pinkerton.
The above was the initial report, but after clarification it seems that Valentin was not ejected from the game.

Re: January 26th games
Wow Pinkerton/Goffstown wins are indeed surprising! Loving this season so far, no gimme's anywhere...
Re: January 26th games
I heard Goffstown was in the bonus in the 3rd period at Memorial and the Grizzlies took advantage and scored a lot of points from the FT line.

Salem upsets BG 48 - 47.
This wild night continues:
With three Bishop Guertin defenders draped over him, senior Alex La Rosa hit a fall-away 3-pointer with 3/10ths of a second remaining to give Salem a heart-stopping 48-47 victory over the previously unbeaten Cardinals.

Re: January 26th games
Biggest thing I see there in the BG/Salem game is the lack of the last name "Green" in the box score. Interesting.
Re: January 26th games
Yeah Asst, he has an ankle injury. He probably won't play against Merry on Friday.
I think a night like this shouldn't surprise all of us that know what Class L had going into the season, but it's still fun to see the results and news come in.

Re: January 26th games
Ah I did not hear he was out with a bum ankle. That makes BG a significantly different team I think. Is Merry a favorite after tonights BG loss to Salem?
PS about time Salem showed how good they are. LaRosa and Gallant are a nice 1-2 punch. If Lorenz can step up consistently they will make a run here late in the season. They've played a bunch of tough games so far and could really make some noise late while others (like Alvirne, Memorial, etc.) are beating each other up.

A little BG-itis for Merry in Red Raider Land?
The only thing not exciting about Salem's upset over BG tonight is that the unbeaten luster is taken off from the Merry-BG game on Friday.

Re: January 26th games
Winny beats Londonderry easily by 16 or 17.
In command the entire night, don't think winny used a timeout.
The odd thing , is that winny was in foul trouble all night, but a great effort from busfield and munson off the bench.

bg game
I never posted here before, but after watching the BG- Salem game i was amazed that a fight didn't break out.I wonder if they were the same ref's that did the Milford -Portsmouth game{they were that bad}.BG did come out as flat as a pancake, and Salem was sky high. With BG down by 14 to start the 4th,they held Salem to 1 point until that kid hit a 3pt dagger at the buzzer.BG'S bench played great.fyi the fouls in the 1st half were 13-2 .Mignault should be commended for keeping his squad under control ,one kid from BG got bowed to the face, as hard a hit as I have seen in awhile, and they called the foul on the BG kid. I thought people were going to come out of the stands. That Salem ad should be ashamed that he let those guys ref.

refs in salem game
BG plays overly aggressive the whole game and it seems like they almost try to foul. They have deep bench and its seems like coach tells them to be aggressive and not worry about fouling because there is someone behind them.
Why if someone loses a game it always the refs fault? Similiar posts from Class I team last week.

Re: January 26th games
Welcome to the forum Big Guy. Interesting tidbit on the refs being the same as the Milford/Portsmouth game last week. Keep the info coming, hope to get more reports from you in the future!
re refs
I don't think they were the same ref's as the Milford-Portsmouth game, I was trying to make a point on how bad they were.I agree with the guy calling me out about complaining about the ref's,I never do it{except today}.BG learned that every team is pumped to play them, and they must bring their A game, every game. That all being said it sure was fun watching them hold Salem to 1 point for seven minutes and 58 seconds of the 4th quarter. That kid made a hellava shot to win it for Salem.

Re: January 26th games
Word out of the West side of Manchester is that Valentin is eligible for the Memorial game on Friday. It seems there was a situation where he might have received his 5th foul and as he was going off the court there was a physical happening with Proulx on which he was assessed a technical foul. Valentin walked over to the bench and never sat down and an asst. coach escorted him to the locker room. There was about 5 minutes left in the game and Pinkerton had a healthy double digit lead. So, it seems Valentin went to the locker room on his own accord and not the referees.
