D2 Tournament 2016

I may end up talking to myself here, but ....

First round in D2 was "chalk", with only a couple of near upsets, notably #13 Goffstown taking #4 Milford to the wire, and the same with #11 John Stark vs #6 Hollis-Brookline.

And the Owls losing by 3 in OT.

Well I think a final four appearance by West would be very cool. A state Championship for them even cooler. Both could happen

and when was the last time we had 2 Undefeated teams in the State Championship? (I honestly can't remember ever?, T and F?) Could happen

and remember if anyone could make this Statement it's Dave Haley. "Portsmouth is the best team in the state." I can't wait to go see them play

We are just not there yet, wait till after the weekend, we might have a lot to talk about.

It was definitely a great game, but I didn't list it because it was a 8-9 matchup. Congrats to the Owls on a great season; they should be even better next year.

Coe-Brown at Portsmouth - 4:00pm
Brady at Milford - 7:00pm
Souhegan at Lebanon - 6:00pm
Hollis-Brookline at West - 7:00pm

I was lucky enough to be there for the West/HB game last night & I can tell you it was an amazing atmosphere!  Both sides had LOUD crowds and lived & died with every single play.  As good as I feel for Danny & his kids for getting to the Final Four I feel very bad for HB who played about as well as they could and were literally only 1 second away from a major upset.

I checked in with Tommy Ameen a/k/a the walking basketball encyclopedia and posed the above question by Hooper to him. Tommy could not remember the last state title game played in NH by 2 unbeaten teams. I threw the Skip Barry/James Best title game of 1984 at Tommy as one state title game that could've had 2 unbeatens between BG and Portsmouth. This was not the case as BG was 17 - 1 and Portsmouth was 16 - 2.

So, the search goes on for this answer
