Class S Tournament
Well, It's been an interesting tournament so far. We had to wait for the whole weekend to be complete to find out who were in the Class S semis. Woodsville waited until Sat. to travel down to Derryfield. And Wilton had to wait until Sunday to play Newmarket, not there, but even further away at Sanborn High because of the massive seacoast power outages. The top 8 seeds survived the first round games and then the fun begins. #8 Littleton shocked #1 Colebrook. Well looking at the regular season, we can see this wasn't too much of a shocker as one of two Colebrook's losses came from Littleton. Also Littleton lost to Groveton twice, Pittsburg once and Woodsville once. All Class S tournament teams. Throw in two losses from Class M's White Mountains(the ones that are in the Class M Semis rising from the #13 seed), and you've got a 11-7 record. Not bad.
The semis were two great games to watch - #3 Groveton played their North Country style ball and defeated #2 Newmarket. Looking at the regular season schedules, Groveton definately had the tougher schedule. Then #8 Littleton played their North style ball and put away #4 Derryfield. Again, Littleton playing the tougher schedule.
Should be a great final as Littleton lost to Groveton both times, with the last game being January 6th. So We'll see if about 2 months later makes a difference in Littleton pulling this out. The crowds were definately on the side of Groveton & Littleton. Alot of team spirit and community outporing.

Re: Class S Tournament
This was a game of runs - Littleton was up at the half 24-17. Groveton came back and in the 4th quarter lead by as many as 13. Littleton shot some threes at the last 3 minutes of the 4th and were behind by 2 at one point. Groveton got fouled made 1 out of 2 shots to put them up 52-49. Littleton tried to strike a 3 at the end but couldn't do it. Groveton is the Class S champs in Boys Basketball as well as Girls Basketball. A great game.
