testing 1,2,3, testing 1,2,3.
Just wanted to make sure this site is still working. My preseason pick is Salem. Poore is a filthy pitcher. North will good as well. It's going to be cool coming in as an underdog. The funny thing about baseball in NH with the pitching restrictions, the best team doesn't always wins. The team with the most pitching depth usually takes home the crown. It's all gravy for some of these kids that have won 2 championships in a row. Three would be legendary.

Agree with you GNG salem is going to be the team to beat with Treff Poore Moran. Poore is headed to Boston College on a scholarship. He is one if not the best pitcher in the state. North is always strong also. You cant count out the likes of Keene always a good hitting team, Londonderry also finds a way to be good. Should be an interesting year around D1 For baseball

Sitting for 7 innings with GNG at a BG baseball game? God, what a nice thing to do this spring/summer. If it's cold I have my "multi use" BG shirt, as GNG would say, to keep me protected from the elements.

I know tryouts just started, any idea when opening day is for either D1 or D2, or are the schedules not out yet?

Memorial is at South on April 11th at 4:00 pm. I would imagine this is probably the start of the season for a lot of D1 baseball teams. That's in 3 weeks. Doesn't seem too enticing as I look out my window and it's still snowing and in the low 30s. Hope we have a quick warm up.
Although I love baseball I might have to rely on GNG for some baseball input. That's OK, because I pretty much held GNG's hand and took him through the basketball informational mine fields the last couple of years.

Actually
Actually I think I went about 3 for 4 in that testing procedure. If you take your lack of vision as a 3 out of 4 we are even!

Abball, wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts on the upcoming season, on D1 or D2 or both if you follow both divisions. Love baseball, just didn't follow it that much last year.

I'm trying to understand what you just said, but as usual most of the time, you make no sense.

I will type slower
I will type slower so you can keep up. My knowledge is a 3 out of 4, your vision is a 3 out of 4... so we would get the same amount of calls correct for different reasons... that help?

For your edification I have seen fans removed from baseball parks also.
OK, I just had to say it. All in good fun.

Same Blind Pool of Humans?
My guess is the same blind pool of humans wear stripes in the Winter and Blue in the Spring. That would lead to the same hostilities with the fans so I am not surprised.

This is nice.
You have your baseball rules interpretation game face firmly on and we have a fresh covering of spring snow today in NH.
You are running on all 8 baseball rule questioning cylinders.

And how about feeling some Kum-bay-ya restful peace coming off winning back to back state titles and letting it calm your official/referee/umpire questioning and fears for at least a little while. Relax, take a deep breath and smell the roses and fresh brewed experience of back to back championships.

ChiKid - let's start off with an easy one for you. Can you explain the strike zone... Not the "real" one, but how it's called here in NH as opposed to perhaps IL or NY or somewhere else you've traveled

Looks like we're going to need a new forum section.... "The Grandstands".
Strikezone in NH
The Strike zone in NH is as it is at any other baseball field. If the umpire says STERRRRRRIIIIIIIIKE it is a strike (you get 3) If he says BOL! It is a Ball and you get four of them. I would bore you with the Knees and Letters and Black of the plate but just like the charge call in basketball that also is a hit or miss.

Re: testing 1,2,3, testing 1,2,3.
I think I'm going to be fully entertained by ChiKid posting on baseball threads. I already sense ChiKid has a little of Yogi Berra in him, with a sprinkling of Gene Mauch and a dash of Earl Weaver.
"The worst thing is the day you realize you want to win more than the players do." Gene Mauch
"He hits from both sides of the plate. He's amphibious." Yogi Berra
"It's what you learn after you know it all that counts." Earl Weaver

Interesting Tidbit from Aetna Little League
In 1982 I recorded 6 home runs and was currently 2nd all time in a season to a player named Ron Kittle. Ron a year later was the American League Rookie of the year. While I did play through Babe Ruth and into high school I never recorded another home run. Peaking at 12 Sucks! lol
