Re: Saturday Feb. 25th Games
West at Pinkerton is being played on Saturday. I don't know what time yet.
Interesting to note all the girl's games postponed tonight have to be played tomorrow. NHIAA stipulates the girl's regular season has to be finished by Feb. 26th so the playoff schedule can be ironed out. Cell phones and computers must have been exploding today with all the reschedulings.

Re: Saturday Feb. 25th Games
Trinity boys at Spaulding at 3:00 pm.
This might be the worst news I've heard all day.
So much for my Saturday night plans in Rochester, Sports Animal. The Rochester surf and turf will have to get a rain/snow? check.

alvirne at dover monday 7pm
chi kid,Exeter at Memorial 5:30,or Central at North 6pm might be a little more competitive then the Guertin game.I wish the Trinity- Spaulding game started earlier,I would have made the trip to see that one.I would wager that the gyms will be pretty empty with the rescheduled games. Are any forumites going to the Trinity game today?

With ChiKid's potential 11:30, 2:00, 5:30 and potential 7 pm game attendance today, it's nice he gets along with Mrs ChiKid.
At least I'm presuming he gets along with her.

Re: Saturday Feb. 25th Games
Geez, I just noticed I called this thread Sat Feb. 25th Games when it should have been Sat. Feb. 26th. This winter is definitely starting to freeze my brain.
In a game played Friday Feb. 25th South beat Timberlane 64 to 51. Anthony Muccioli had 24 points to lead South. This might have been the only game played last night in NH.

Absence
Absence makes the heart grow fonder was my moms favorite term. I think that was her way of saying do not feel like you have to come around to often. lol
I never got any information on a 7pm game tonight.. did I miss something or will I be home by 8?

This is Trinity's season high for team points. Who would've thought.

Re: Saturday Feb. 25th Games
Nice basketball day.
- worked 2 very close well played down to the wire games.
- Watched Memorial beat Exeter by 18. Exeter actually hung tough in this game. Memorial was up 34 to 26 at halftime. Exeter was very tough on the glass. They have a couple of bigs that are relentless with rebounding including one who is built like a pressure treated utility shed. Matt Barr had an excellent game for Exeter. He probably had around 16 to 20 for the Blue Hawks. He has a good feel for the game, has a nice shot and handles the ball nicely. I would take him on my team any day. Memorial took a 45 to 35 lead at the end of the 3rd. Exeter cut the lead to under 10 a couple of times, but not having many people step up in the scoring department did in Exeter. Madol seemed to have a quiet game.
- Enough time left in the evening to catch the Sunapee at Derryfield girl's D4 quarterfinal game. This was a fascinating game. Sunapee took 40 to 80 seconds off the clock on each offensive possession in an attempt to condense the game against the undefeated Derryfield team. The score at half was Derryfield 12 Sunapee 8. The team fouls at half were D-field 3 and Sunapee 0. Not too many times you'll see a team with 0 team fouls at halftime. Sunapee continued their long offensive possessions in the 2nd half and with about 3 and a half minutes to go in the game was tied with Derryfield. A couple of key baskets for Derryfield got them some much needed spacing as they won 35 - 24. They move into Monday's semi final game with Moultonborough at Plymouth State.

Memorial girls defeat Exeter 57 - 42 to finish 13 - 5. They set a school record for victories.
Playoffs unofficially for D1 Queen City teams in prelim games this Wednesday looks like:
#5 Memorial will be hosting #12 Merrimack (Merry won the regular season game 48 - 46)
Holy Religion as #7 BG will host #10 Trinity (BG won the regular season game 44 - 35)
#4 Dover will be hosting #13 Central (Dover beat Central twice during the regular season 47 - 36 and 41 - 36)

Re: Saturday Feb. 25th Games
Watched T & F do a fantastic job refereeing two great girls games today. The highlight, however was watching him and his partner trying to dislodge a ball that was stuck between the backboard and the pipe that is connected to the backboard. It was the most entertaining five minutes of the day!

Re: Saturday Feb. 25th Games
Thanks for the kind words NHhoopfan, but I'm still trying to figure out how a player who I believe hit about 5 swish three pointers in the game then took a 10 foot dribble drive jumper and shot the ball between the top of the backboard and the pipe just above it. Game Admin Wenners bounces a ball to us with the, "You're own your own pal" look. The Memorial JV coach had more suggestions on how to get the ball down than he offers in most 60 seconds time outs. Maybe, I should've given the ball to the Memorial coach because he always tells me of his pitching exploits in days of yore as a baseball player on a bi weekly basis.

Re: Saturday Feb. 25th Games
I don't believe there will be as many upsets in the upcoming tournament as people think. The cream seems to be rising to the top.I will go so far as saying I don't believe any of the top 6 seeds lose their 1st round games. That would make for some terrific 2nd round matches.I heard on wgam yesterday that it wouldn't shock them if a 15 seed beat a 2 seed with all the parity this year.It isn't going to happen.
