Re: 2010-2011 Media Outlet Division Previews
Today Dave Haley at NHSportsPage.com previews Division II. No real surprises at the top here, Milford (duh...), Souhegan, Pembroke and Bedford.
http://www.nhsportspage.com/display_full_story.php?story_id=551
I really like the Bedford team, think they can make a splash. You can't teach size and they've got plenty of it. Not only are their bigs, well, big, but their talented too. With the Fahmy connection back intact and Maher with another year under his belt, they'll be tough. If they can get some ballhandling and shooting they might have enough to contend with Milford.
Pelham is an interesting team too, gone is Lombard, but Spirou is a beast. We'll see how the rest of the team develops around him.
Last thing I took from his preview is Portsmouth at 9. The article hints at a situation developing with their best player and All-State guard Kyle DiCesare. Sounds like maybe Haley knows something we all don't. I'll be interested to see who they run out Friday night when they take on Pembroke. There's the potential that the Clippers could tip it off with only 4, or maybe no remaining starters from last years team...Wow. They'll have to prove themselves to show they even belong in the top 10 in my opinion, but knowing Mulveys coaching abilities, he'll get the most out of them and have them ready for a playoff run in February.

I think this is the last one before we get rolling Friday night...NH Sports Page previews Division I.
http://www.nhsportspage.com/display_full_story.php?story_id=552
Dave and I have been hitting the phones hard with coaches, some good quotes and insight on the season on both their own teams and others. Looking forward to what I think is a wide-open season for the top 6-8 teams.

Green 2nd team,no way.
sports page did it's predictions for division 1 and had Connor Green 2nd team all division. Not even close, the kid will be battling it out for player of the year in the division. He is highly motivated to have a monster season on both ends of the floor. It's funny that sport pages did such a thorough story on BG'S team {starters and bench} and somehow left out senior captain Kyle Remillard {rodney dangerfield, no respect}.I got a few calls and emails poking fun at that, asking if he graduated, or quit the team.Since I am the unofficial ringleader of the guertin parents I have to take it,cuz God knows I am the first person to dish it.Tonight's game is a dandy, but I wish it was later in the season. It's like having the sox open up with the yanks,no reason for it.On the injury front, chartrand has his cast off and is available. Both Kelly and McCarthy are going full bore with rehab, and I would guess mid to late January.Remi's shoulder is almost there and he is a go.When Guertin get's Kelly and McCarthy back it will give them some serious depth.Kelly's athleticism on the press is something to watch, and Joe is quite an offensive player.Should be a fun year,my fearless predictions have BG,CENTRAL,MEMORIAL,AND TRINITY making it to Durham.SPAULDING IS MY SLEEPER TEAM.And away we go.

You are right
GNG I agree 100% on Green. He is a first teamer and a POY candidate.
I am depending on you to give a full write up on tonight's BG and Central matchup do not let me down.
This will be a classic matchup and should tell us if Central has enough guard play to threaten for a title in March. I love how senior John Wickey is playing right now and he is the one guy in the state that may be able to take the POY trophy from the other top guys like Madol,Green or McClung.
As for leaving Kyle off the write up.. Defense is just not sexy to these blogger/sportspage articles. No doubt Kyle will leave his footprint on the defensive end. This team still seems to be looking for a playmaker but the combination of scoring and defensive pressure will win you guys 16 or 17 games and UNH will have a little green in it come March. The real question will be who is on the other side of the court?
Looking forward to seeing a game down the line.
Good luck to all!

A little sidebar on tonight's tilt.My next door neighbor and good friend Brian Tenhave will be on Doc's bench tonight. He left the green and gold for the little green. He coached THE MERRIMACK BOYS at bg in junior high, and freshman. He has been on Migs bench for the last 3 years but wanted to expand his resume a little. I feel bad that I went over and sliced all 4 of his tires this morning, but he knows we take high school hoops seriously. I didn't slice his tires but i did call him early,he loves to sleep till noon.

Re: 2010-2011 Media Outlet Division Previews
I think you can definitely make a case for Green on First Team and would agree he's a POY candidate. As far as Remillard goes, ChiKid is actually right, defense does not dominate these articles, offense does in most cases, and truth be told, he's not the story of that team, or the offseason. The story is McClung and Green, the Senior scorers/leaders and the transfers of Kesty and Holler.
All I'll say is a lot of coach input goes into those articles, if Miggy focused his conversation w/Dave on Remi, then the article would have reflected that. Both are fair points and observations by ChiKid, GNG. It's all subjective, which is what makes it fun.
