NHTI hosts 3rd Annual Boys & Girls Club Classic

Concord, NH –NHTI in Concord, New Hampshire will be hosting its third annual Boys & Girls Club Fall Classic basketball games on Tuesday night November 18th, 2014. Men’s and Women’s basketball teams from Plymouth State University and Rivier University will compete in the event. There will also be two halftime contests in which members of the audience could be chosen to participate.

The event began in 2012 replacing the Jacob’s Bridge through Autism D-3 Challenge.  The event is to provide future scholarships for students attending NHTI and build a strong relationship with the Boys & Girls Club here in Concord including a special Monday afternoon clinic with the NHTI men’s and women’s basketball teams and 25 campers from the Concord Boys and Girls Club.

This year’s event looks to bring a very exciting matchup between the two teams. The Rivier women won by a score of 65-52 and the Plymouth State men upended the Rivier men 73-61.

On Monday November 18, men and women of the NHTI basketball teams will host a special basketball clinic for local members of the Concord Boys & Girls Club as an activity the day prior to the main event. The clinic will be directed by NHTI Men’s basketball Coach and Athletic Director Paul Hogan. It should be successful again as the year prior succeeded bringing in over 40 members to partake in the clinic.

Returning coaches for all teams include Liz Stitch for Plymouth State’s Women (3rd year), Paul Williams for Rivier Women (5th year), Andrew Novick for Plymouth State’s Men (4th year), and Coach David Morissette for Rivier men who is entering his 17th year.

Tip-off times for Plymouth and Rivier women begin at 6 PM with the men playing at 8 PM. Tickets will go on sale for the games at 5 PM at the Crocker Wellness Center at NHTI’s campus. Admissions for adults are $6.00 and students are $2.00.
