BASKETBALLS BACK! and not that NBA crap either college basketball. Two big time programs going at it in one of the most unique and great environments that at least I've ever seen. Can't wait to see how this goes as there's currently a 12mph wind at the game.

Pretty good game, both teams looked rusty. Tyler Zeller is one of my favorite players the way he takes charges, and plays so controlled. Mich St. impressed me outrebounding the Heels which is what kept the game somewhat close. Nice scene in SD with the servicemen and president. I hope they continue this tradition.
The better game was on ESPNU afterwards between Belmont and Duke. Duke barely won at home against a mid-major who is returning the core of their team. Duke will get better but it was quite a game by the Belmont kids who never gave up despite the tough environment in Cameron.

By the sounds of it they will be continuing this game. I didn't get to see the duke belmont game sounded great though. Belmonts generally a tough team won 30 games last year and if i recall correctly two or 3 years ago they played either Duke or maybe G-town close in a first round game.

It was quite a canvas for the NC - Mich St game. Henson had 9 blocks. I remember when I saw him in the McDonalds AS game 3 years ago I had never seen such a wing span on a player before. He made Sam Perkins' wing span look like one of a small twin engine plane. He had one remarkable block on a Mich St guard when he attempted a 3 pointer. Henson covered 10 feet in the matter of a blip to make the block. Henson is 6'11. I am not a big science guy, but I presume he has the wing span and reach of some one who is around 7'11.
Even though Harrison Barnes has a lot of pub and hype, for my eyes I'd take Jeremy Lamb of UConn. He is an amazing player. I wouldn't be surprised to see him taken as the #1 pick in next year's NBA draft. He is long, lanky and explosive. He can play D ferociously. I think if he improves his outside shooting you might have a player who will be a 6 to 8 time NBA AS before it's all said and done. I do like Harrison Barnes' game. He has such a smooth shot and can square up on a dime and in a micro second on the fly, but if I have the #1 pick right now, I closely watch Jeremy Lamb and concentrate on his mental makeup for my choice.
