Game 6 of 2011 World Series Empty Game 6 of 2011 World Series

Post  Tuesday and Friday Fri Oct 28, 2011 8:30 am

As a baseball fan and purist I am in awe of Game 6 last evening. To see a team come back twice from 2 runs down and to their last strike in the 9th and 10th innings AND to add a walk off homer in the 11th was majestically dramatic.

It was the first time in the history of the world Series a team scored in the 9th, 10th and 11th innings. How about David Freese? Game tying 2 run triple in the 9th and walkoff homer in the 11th. For Cards fans this was like seeing 2 Bernie Carbo circa 1975 home runs in the 9th and 10th and then a Carlton Fisk circa 1975 home run in the 11th.

Simply Epic.

In just over 12 hours both teams have to kick it in gear mentally and physically for what will surely be a historic Game 7.

Rangers..... Tough to be in that clubhouse last night after 2 squandered leads one strike away from their first WS championship. It was painful to see the camera focus on Nolan Ryan during the drama of the 9th to 11th innings. I really respected him when he played and the way he played the game. If more Red Sox pitchers had Ryan's playing days attitude and work ethic the Sox might be playing the Cards tonight in Game 7.

Texas has not lost 2 games in a row in a long time. The last 8 Game 7s have been won by the home team. Both bullpens are spent. I wonder if Nolan Ryan will sign himself to a 1 day contract for tonight so he can toss a few Ryan Express 100+ fastballs over that St. Louis home plate?
