Boy's JV Tournament at West

The 18th Annual West High Boy's JV Invitational Tournament will start this Saturday March 5th. Let me stress this is not a JV State Tournament, but an invitational tournament. The seedings are based on records the teams compiled after 14 games. Not every D1 team is playing in this tournament. This is why it is an invitational and not a state tournament.

The Quarterfinals and Semi Finals are being played on the same day because of scheduling conflicts with Varsity playoff games that week. It should be a fun tournament with some good basketball on display.

South JV beat BG by about 11 scored in the 80's

Jack Preston a Sophomore played well for South even had a nice 2 handed dunk around 20 points. And little Danny Auger took over in the second half not a bad little player.

Bg Toscano played well and I was really impressed with Jeff Lunn. He is about 6-3 wide body with a nice touch and good patients down low.

BG would of won the game if cj wasn't hurt. They needed his defense and auger would not of been a threat if cj guarded him, but another kid had to.

Championship Game at 6:30 pm tonight - Monday - Memorial vs. Central

MY neighbor was at the finals. He said the ref called 3 lane violations in a row on 1 possesion against Central in the last 2 minutes of the game. Kid from central got t'd up, a parent{i am assuming} from Central got kicked out. The guy who got kicked out slapped the ref in the butt pretty hard as he was leaving. I guess we missed it. By the way where is the chikid tonight.{only kiddding}.Memorial won by 3.

Memorial wins the championship by defeating Central 57 - 54.

The Tournament MVP was Zubel Iraducanda of Memorial.

The Sportsmanship Award went to Mike Plentzas of Central.
