Boy's D1 JV Tournament at West

Danny Bryson and his Blue Knight crew will be running the boy's JV Tournament at West starting this weekend.

A little unusual. BG finishes their season against Salem Friday night, then turns around and plays them the next morning.

I know Coach Marty Edwards squad has been beset by injuries this season. Three starters are out from his 12-5 team. Thru the years I have become friends with Coach Edwards{he's a good dude, and loyal asst. coach} and I will be at the 10:30 game cheering on the youngsters from Guertin.

This JV Tournament always has funny circumstances. Some teams lose players to varsity at the end of the year, some teams have players brought down from varsity who are getting rusty due to no minutes and some teams benefit from a couple of good players brought up from the freshman team who's season is done.

TF I thought you could play in only one tourney thus if a player plays Freshman tourney he cant be called up to play JV tourney?

Teams like Concord could benefit if they have any sophomores or Freshman that have been playing V and JV they could play them in this tourney to get them more time.

G-Bear, it might take a nuclear reactor builder to figure out the roster details for JV, freshman and varsity teams and who plays for what team and in what tournaments.

In the Winny - Concord game the Crimson Tide had a 19 point lead in the first half. Concord went cold in the 2nd half and Winny chipped away at the lead before over taking the Crimson Tide.

In the Central - Exeter game Exeter had the ball with 11 seconds left down by 1 going full court out of a TO from the baseline. They failed to execute an offensive set and never got a shot off before the buzzer sounded.


Monday March 5th at 6:00 PM in the championship game it will be Winny vs. Central.

Winny wins by one over Central in JV championship!
Winny player makes basket off rebound with 11 seconds left, Central calls multiple timeouts in last 10 or so seconds, and central player misses jumpshot at buzzer.
