Girl's JV Tournament at Central
Central is doing an excellent job of running the girl's JV tournament this weekend. It started yesterday with Londonderry defeating Dover in the morning. In the afternoon there were back to back thrilling games. Winny beat Memorial on a buzzer beater. North then beat Trinity by 1 point. Central lost to BG in the late afternoon game.
In the semi finals today Londonderry beat Winny and North defeated BG. The final between Londonderry and North will be at Central on Monday night at 7 pm. The nice thing about this tournament is it gives the younger girls the feeling of a tournament game(s) to get them ready for stepping up to be on varsity next season.
Kudos to the dedicated Central basketball people running this nice tournament for the JV girl's players.

Re: Girl's JV Tournament at Central
Londonderry defeated North 50 - 25 to win the Central JV Girl's Tournament. Londonderry had a solid 24 to 10 halftime lead and the lead in the 2nd half grew bigger. Big would be a good way to describe the Londonderry girl's JV team. They are bigger than some girl's varsity teams I have seen this year. They have big centers. They have big small forwards. They have big shooting guards. They have big point guards. OK you get it. Londonderry is big.... and they can play. They have 15 girls and they play them all. Their first 5 is excellent. Their 2nd five is very good and their 3rd five is fundamentally sound. The most impressive thing about Londonderry is when they go to the bench they don't lose much. With other teams you can tell there is a drop off when you go to the 8th, 9th or 10th players. Londonderry's subs run the offense to perfection. They work like a machine out on the court. You add this JV crew to the freshmen like Aliza Simpson who is already starting on varsity, then you have a program that will make some noise for a long time in D1.
It will be interesting to see how the Winny vs Londonderry dynamic plays out in the next few years. Will Winny continue to dominate or will Londonderry over take them to garner the top spot.
