Now Ranked #2
This kid is now ranked number two in the country. What is going on at Milford High School and track and field? They have a terrific program, a program that use to be a joke. This was a sport that people played if they couldn't play baseball, softball, tennis, lacrosse, etc.
I guess it is true build it and they will come...since this track has been built, track and field has taken off. Corron, Barbiasz, both Forte's, the girls team is amazing year in and year out now.

Re: Dwight Barbiasz - University of Maryland- University of Florida
Ya the track has become "the" sport at Milford. In the past it was a joke, practices and meets were more of a social activity rather than a sporting event. It really started about 4 years ago when Mike Wright (current coach at Milford) was the Middle School coach. The guy is really dedicated to the sport, him along with the track being built and now look at it perennial bottom feeder to both the boys and girls team competing at the state meet and as of late the program has sent many kids to college.
Other than Dwight
Bri Corron- Keene State
Mel Forte- Holy Cross
Gus von Marschall- Umaine
Grant Hamilton-U of Northern Arizona
Probably forgot a few, but there's likely to be quite a few more heading to college for track from Milford.

Dwight continues to dominate the ACC. He won the ACC Outdoor Championships (high jump) He only jumped 6'11 (crazy saying only when it's 6'11) he obviously can jump higher but he stopped jumping because it started raining too hard. This is only his first Outdoor ACC ship but that's because he has battled injuries the previous 2 years during the outdoor seasons.

Dwight finished 5th at the nationals. He jumped 7'2 as did the two other people that finished in front of him but took more tries to clear it.

Re: Dwight Barbiasz - University of Maryland- University of Florida
He finished tied for second at Nationals in Boise. He cleared 7' 3 3/4" which is what the winner cleared, but it took Dwight a few more tries. Great showing by Dwight.

Re: Dwight Barbiasz - University of Maryland- University of Florida
Last weekend Dwight finished third at the NCAA Nationals with another PR Jump of 7' 5.75" which also tied the University of Florida's all-time record. This jump also qualified him for Olympic Trials which will take place this month in Oregon.

Re: Dwight Barbiasz - University of Maryland- University of Florida
To qualify for the Olympic team he'll have to hit the 7' 7" mark and I believe he also has to finish top 3 in the qualifiers so he may have to go even higher than that. He's also already made the U-23 team.
