Winny led at half by 2, but foul trouble and lack of offense doomed Winny in second half.

Eagle Tribune weighs in on Salems 49-46 OT win at Nashua South.
http://rallynorth.eagletribune.com/localsports/teams/story/9545?story_id=8751
Salem improves to 2-0 after beating Londonderry last week.
Merrimack Valley beat Windham. Interesting note from the Box Score is the respective younger Lorenz and Cannone brother play for Windham (and play quite well 15 for Lorenz, 6 for Cannone) while the elder brother for each play for Salem.

Spaulding over Concord decisively 66-42. Red Raiders had 4 players in double figures, but broke it open in the 2nd half outscoring the Tide 39-19.
Spaulding is a popular "sleeper" pick this year. It'll be interesting to watch their progress, especially on the road. I expect them to play very well at home as most clubs are not fond of the 1 1/2 hr. bus ride to Rochester.

BG/Londonderry Girls

This must have been a heck of a game between 2 teams picked to be in the top 5 for girl's D1.
It was. BG pulled out to a first quarter lead then went cold in the second quarter scoring four points. STill,Londonderry was only up one at the half. BG came out hard in the third, building the lead up to 7 or 8, and was up 5 at the break. The fourth quarter was a track meet, with both teams converting on some amazing shots - Londonderry's Crutcher hit a slew of outside shots, while BG did its damage inside with Green, Fallon and Sherburne leading the way. At the end the momentum was swinging back to BG. I think Londonderry was glad to get out of Nashua with a win.
Given the surprises so far in girls D1 (Timberlane, South and Alvirne looking good; Central, Trinity and Memorial trying to find themselves), look for Londonderry and BG to make a strong run to SNHU if they continue to play like they did last night!

Spaulding plays their home games at the Rocherster CC. It's a different ambiance for a game. The stands are set way back from the court. There is a curtain on the other side of the court. They have a game announcer that tries to stir up the natives during the game. Add in the local flavor of passing by the Riviera Motel, possibly buying a used car from the used capitol of NH and the Rochester Elks Club and you certainly have a memorable evening spent in Rochester.

The Trinity girls finally broke into the win column, but the Central girls are winless heading into the Holiday Tournament. When was the last time that happened? Obviously, the LG girls are suffering from a case of "loss of Bakolas and Walker."

I spent a week in Rochester one night. This is what I think I know after 2 games. There is going to be a big divide between the haves and have nots in division 1 this year.T@f i think you should sell West while you can,I have them at 9-9 finishing 12th.If your looking to buy a team,Spaulding,I have them finishing 12-6 and finishing 6th.Surprise teams that will struggle, winnie, and salem. These are my haves,bg,memorial, central, trinity, merrimack, spaulding, and pinkerton.Middle of the road teams, north, dover, west, londonderry.Towards the bottom of the middle of the road, alvirne, salem, winny.Have nots, south, timby, exeter{that win surprised me,I have them winning 3},keene,and concord.Only time will tell if I am right. Not a big fan of the new 5 points for an away win, and 4 points for a home win rule.

GNG - I won't be selling West just yet. Sure, they lost by 20 to Merrimack last night. They are also missing their anchor, center Jose Gonzalez, due to injury. He is a stabalizing force for the Blue Knights. He adds some solid rebounding, passing and scoring to their frenzied core of players. Remember when Green went down for BG last year. I believe that was the roughest stretch of the season for BG to play with out Green. The same holds true for the Blue Knights with out Gonzalez. He will make West much better when he comes back from injury.

What is Gonzalez's injury?
I wouldn't sell them either... but I would have still picked Merry over them AT Merry....
Home games for some teams seem to carry an extra mystique and Merry is one of those places!

I believe it is an ankle injury. Last I heard he was out 2 to 3 weeks.

Sports Animal, we all have skeletons in our respective closets. Some skeletons have more bones than others. Other skeletons decay with the passing of time. Be proud of your Rochester heritage.
Are you selling a low mileage and nice conditioned used car these days?
