2. Rating against NHIAA divisional opponents selected for the tournament including all teams
involved in a tie for the last position. Once the tournament teams have been selected, the teams that
were tied for the last position are no longer used in breaking ties as they are not considered
tournament teams.
3.
Quality of wins against tournament teams in division including all teams involved in a tie for the
last position. (Ranking)

Re: Tie Breaker for 3,4, and 5 and others
So the teams wins against each other would count
So if all the teams are 5-13
Londonderry would have two wins
Concord would have two wins ( beating dover would be second)
Keene would have three wins
Pinkerton would have two wins
So if all the teams are 5-13
Londonderry would have two wins
Concord would have two wins ( beating dover would be second)
Keene would have three wins
Pinkerton would have two wins

Re: Tie Breaker for 3,4, and 5 and others
thanks goldenbear.....so if concord wins and londonderry loses thats has to be a tough exit for the lancers who are 2-1 vs the tie break teams and only lost to keene in ot when the boulay kid scored 7 points in the final 50 sec to get keene to ot where they eventually won

Tiebreaker
First tiebreaker would be head-head. If all teams are at 5-13 then...
Keene and Londonderry would be 2-1 vs. the other 3 teams. Keene beat Lond/Pink. Lond beat Pink/Conc
Pinkerton and Concord would be 1-2 each. Pink beat Concord. Concord beat Keene.
Keene beat Londonderry so Keene would be 14 seed, Londonderry falls to 15. Pinkerton beat Concord making Pinkerton 16 and Concord out.

That is my interpretation as well. The head-to-head tiebreaker can still be used if more than 2 teams are tied, as long as they all played each other the same number of times, which in this case they did.

Regarding Tie Breaker procedures, the IRS Tax Code is more easily decoded than the NHIAA rules...perhaps it's time that they get simplified? When a team's loss to someone who doesn't qualify for the playoffs actually gives them a leg up on other teams, there would seem to be something wrong.
As soon as someone comes up with "simplified" tie breaking procedure they need to *patent* and *sell* it!
Oh and if we ever get a simple IRS Tax Code, there will be many government workers, lobbyists, laywers, CPA's, etc. out of work!

The criteria for seeding a team is as follows:
1.
Rating* in head-to-head competition which shall be the established team rating system based upon
contests against opponents involved in the tie providing they have played each other the same
number of times.

your right but I do not think they would break it down more than one level, Keene and Pinkerton would be 1-2 thus they would go to the second tie breaker, they would not go back to head head, because all the team are tied. I think it would get and Keene and Londonderry in but then you cant re do the head to head again.

Redo Head to head
....that's how it's done. The 2-1 teams would break first tie and then match up head to head for seeding. The 1-2 teams would then match up head to head to break next tie. The other criteria come in to play if you can't use head to head.....ie if Concord didn't play Londonderry then not all teams can be involved in the first head to head tiebreaker.
In the end it won't matter because they're not all going to finish with 5 wins in all likelihood. I didn't feel like figuring it out, but it would get messier if 3 teams were tied with 5 wins and all teams involved in the head to head tiebreaker were 1-1 against each other. Then you'd proceed to the next tiebreaker.

I think we all could be in for a surprise if concord wins because who knows what type of crazy rule the NHIAA will throw at us

Re: Tiebreaker
I'm almost positive that you have to break all ties at the same time. You can't break part of the tie, put those 2 teams in, and go back to break the tie between the other 2 teams.
