2nd Annual D1 Boy's Final Standings Contest
Things are getting out of control on GNG's attempt to run the 2nd Annual Boy's final standings contest. He posts the thread, then 1/2 explains it, 1/2 runs it and
1/2 Glasses it, if you get my drift.
So, here we go. Put in your final regular season standings for all 20 teams in D1 Boys. The tie breaker is to predict the final score of the HUGE Trinity at Central game on Tuesday Feb. 26th.
******************* DEADLINE IS 5:00 PM ON TUESDAY FEB. 5TH **************************
The winner receives:
1 hour lunch with GNG at the Auburn Pitts on Saturday March 9th in the afternoon. Lots to talk about that day as the quarter final games will have been played the night before.
The Forum member who finishes 2nd receives a consolation prize:
2 hour lunch with GNG at the Auburn Pitts

Re: 2nd Annual D1 Boy's Final Standings Contest
From the computers at The Edge Labs which is a 20 node Hadoop cluster on HDFS with Ubuntu
1) Trinity - Just don't see them losing to anybody left on their schedule
2) Spaulding - only loss will be Trinity by 2 w/paradis in early foul trouble
3) Central - Still have South, Trinity, Spaulding to go.
4) South - 4 tough games left, North game was a Big Preston-less fluke
5) memorial - though if Kante is out for much longer they have issues
6) Dover - only South and Trinity left
7) Merrimack - Impressive considering the talent they lost
BG - #17 in DPPG won't cut it
9) Alvirne - Point guard away from being a really good team
10)Exeter - End season w/Timby,Salem,Concord,West, and Keene
11)Bedford - 9-9 is a good 1st D1 season. Transfers hurt
12)Londondery - vs. Pinkerton Lancers 9-9/8-10, vs. Exeter Lancers 5-12 out of playoffs
13)Winny- Basketball needs hieght
14)Salem - not sure what happened here should of been better
15)North - Jordan Lates can shoot him some basketball
16)Keene - This would be a tough 16 if you don't play solid "d" against the 3 pointer
17)Concord - Would love to see how good Marquis would be on a good team
18) Pinkerton - Pains me to put them here as an alumini but basketball is a team sport
19) West - place is a mess and basketball is the least of the problems
20) Timberlane - Very good wrestling program
1) Trinity - Just don't see them losing to anybody left on their schedule
2) Spaulding - only loss will be Trinity by 2 w/paradis in early foul trouble
3) Central - Still have South, Trinity, Spaulding to go.

I forgot the high tech guys. Seacoastdad will also be running some interesting equations that I don't understand.
Good luck EDGE.
Spaulding at 2. Justin is going to be your new best friend.

Re: 2nd Annual D1 Boy's Final Standings Contest
don't forget Forum members there is a lot of motivation to finish first.
the difference between first and second is 1 less hour spent with GNG. that onto itself should motivate anyone to try to finish first.

Can't underestimate the value of teams that have players that have played together for awhile. I think all top 5 have although not sure about Spaulding. Merrimack and BG are making a good run but not sure it can last since they don't have that cohesiveness.
NTTM: You still have to sort out your tied teams with respect to seeding and you have to make your tie breaker pick in the Trinity at Central game. As of this writing you have 7 1/2 hours.

NTTM - You cant have teams tied. You have to list them One to Twenty with no ties.

GNG showed 5,6,7 tied. How did you determine order T&F

Re: 2nd Annual D1 Boy's Final Standings Contest
GNG clarified it with me. He had the teams tied in records, but that was the order of his seeds.
Just edit your post and put your teams # 1 to # 20 with no ties.

Re: 2nd Annual D1 Boy's Final Standings Contest
I'm a little surprised that you picked the central Trinity score so quick Edge.
I would have thought that you would have run that game through a computer/mathamatecal equation set of scenarios for the next day and a half and then come back to us with a prediction by about 4 to 5 o'clock tomorrow

This ain't exactly Bosonic String Theory.
Just kidding. Pure gut instinct. I've seen both teams play multiple times this year and just feel Trinity is stronger with more depth. Through no fault of their own I don't think Central has been challenged yet. Their only upper echelon game was a 47-44 win over a Kante-less Memorial.

Re: 2nd Annual D1 Boy's Final Standings Contest
Nice, the entries are starting to come in.
The deadline is 5:00 pm Tuesday Feb. 5th.
Justin? Have to figure he has Spaulding #1.
GoldenBear? Will he put South #1? South has a big one at Central.
You know the DeafPanther has the right info backing up her sterling basketball mind.
Pete? He's living at Trinity these days, but still wears all his Central football clothing. Where does Mr Tarrier stand?
Tulliver? A tough cookie to figure out for sure. Never know where Tully stands.
Get those entries in!!!!
