Here is what is going to happen in the NFL this weekend.
Timmy Tebow you know I love ya, but my I love my PATS MORE. The Broncos can easily hang 24 points on the Pats defense. Problem is Mr. Brady is getting sick of these first round playoff losses. Denver doesn't have a prayer {well I guess with Tebow they always have a prayer}. PATS 42- BRONCOS 24
Drew Brees can't win on the road, Drew Brees can't win on grass. Drew Brees has as many, if not more offensive weapons then Brady. SF has a heck of a defense, however this is now an offensive league. SAINTS 35- SF 27.
If Schuab was healthy the Texans might be my pick to go to the Super Bowl. I think the Texans defense is better then the Ravens. They are young and fearless. If this game is in Texas I'm picking Houston, but it's in Baltimore. RAVENS 21- TEXANS 17.
Everybody and their brother are taking THE NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS to upset the Packers. Well I'm not everybody, and I'm not your brother. People have forgotten how good the Green Bay qb is. I haven't. PACKERS 42- GIANTS 30.
E.I.R. time for you to unretire and make some picks.

BORRRRING GNG...way to go out on a limb.
Pats is no brainer, but Tebow will make it interesting....for 30 minutes. 31-21 Darth Belichek.
I like the Texans in this one. Good news for them is they don't need to have any production from the QB other than not throwing INTs (he won't throw much) and being able to hand the ball off, and check the ball down to Arian Foster and Ben Tate ALL DAY. Ravens offense is a complete mess outside of Ray Rice, who will get a ton of touches. These teams are very evenly matched I think. That said, I like the Texans. 28-24 Hyyyooooouuuuuuston.
Green Bay wipes the frozen tundra with the Giants. No brainer, not even close. Giants defense is horrible. ARod is too good (never thought I'd put those words in the same sentence). The Green Bay Packahs win it big 48-21.
Lastly I like this Defensive matchup in San Fran. Like the way the 49ers Linebackers can matchup with Jimmy Graham, which is the key. They will shut him down which essentially takes away all of NO's gameplan. If that's not working nothing else will. And there's no way Pierre Thomas carries the San Fran defense for 10 yards a carry with 3 guys on his back. That was atrocious tackling by the Lions. This will be a close game, but not the high scoring affair we've all come tolove hate from the Saints. 23-20 Niners on a game winning Akers FG as time expires.

Assistant, I am shocked .
I never realized that you also know THE NFL.
I didn't pick any underdogs cuz I don't think any of them will win. Although as I mentioned I was tempted with Houston.

I am a wealth of football knowledge I just don't like to flaunt it around here anyway.
You will be surprised to know I write for a fantasy football website...thefakefootball.com. El Asisstanto has many projects to keep himself busy.

Haha yea but at 15-mos the fun is just beginning including climbing, running and of course talking. My hands a still full and she continues to wrap herself around each of my fingers...
NFL yes...HS football not so much...perhaps I just need to experience a game with a knowledgable (borderline insane?) group of fans.

Re: Here is what is going to happen in the NFL this weekend.
Well, I cannot back down from such a direct challenge GNG.
Pats-49, Broncos-17
You think Tom Brady's tired of being blown out? Imagine Belichek. I say the offense comes out firing, I'm hoping (in lieu of Tebow, maybe even PRAYING) that the Pats defense plays the entire game the same way they've played in the second half the last two weeks. Brady throws 3 TD to his tight ends (2 to Gronk, 1 to Hernandez), 1 to Welker, and two short yard runs by one of the most dependable players in the NFL, BenJarvus GreenEllis (who I hope they spend some money to keep next year).
Texans 17, Ravens-14
Arian Foster all day. The man amazes me and gets them into field goal range during overtime. I agree with GNG, I look at their defense and I see it oddly reminiscent of early 2000s Patriots defenses--a bunch of no-name guys that play some tough football and amaze the fans.
Packers-100, Giants-0
Ok, maybe not that out of hand, but the Rodgers Aerial Attack rolls over the Giants, who will score over 20 points, but not enough to beat the 40+ Green Bay puts up.
San Francisco-28, New Orleans-27
This San Francisco defense is being called the next Ravens. Strong linebacking core that takes away the running game and the versatile Jimmy Graham to keep the game close. Alex Smith has been consistent all year, look for him to stay that way. Brees and the Saints won't go down quietly though, expect a dogfight.

I'd be happy if the Pats just played the whole game tomorrow. The last 2 games were brutal. Also maybe Brady can try to make a pass that's not 3" off the turf causing his receiver(s) timing issues leading to dropped passes or negligible gains. Who wants to bend over or dive every time they do their job?

San Fran 36 New Orleans 32 in a THRILLER! Vernon Davis TD with 9 seconds to go in the game.
Brady to Welker for a TD 1:41 into the 1st quarter puts the Pats to a very quick 7-0 lead after a 5 play 80 yard drive.

Heh Jaf, I'd say Brady had nice timing on his first 6 TD passes tonight.

What a game. Everything clicked for the Patriots's offense. AND THE DEFENSE?!?!?!?! Where has that been all year?

So far I'm 2-0 (so is E.I.R)....
Feeling good about my Houston pick...another lopsided win for Pats next week if that happens!

What a great day . First game instant classic. Second game instant rout, {reminded me of the 07 days }. Just an old fashioned butt whippin.
I hope both you and E.I.R. are right , but I suspect BALTIMORE will be coming to Foxboro next week.

San Fran/New Orleans game was one f the best football games I've ever seen. So many clutch plays down the stretch.
Re: Here is what is going to happen in the NFL this weekend.
Hard to believe we are saying that in a game with so many turnovers.
I can't remember a more entertaining game with so much on the line.
Looks like Alex Smith came of age yesterday. Happy for him. Kid has gotton more then his share of haters thru the years.
What about the Pats game. I thought for sure Belichek was gonna let him get that 7th td pass when they were inside the 5.

I think that proves Ol Bill does indeed have a soul. In the post game presser he said he had no idea of that record but you know somebody said something to him over the headset at some point. Pretty classy not running it up actually.
Lot of turnovers in the first game but it was a result of the defensive pressure not sloppy play, which makes it such a great game.

Houston was the better team, glad we are not playing them. ASST. I believe we all have 1 loss.

Re: Here is what is going to happen in the NFL this weekend.
Make that 2 losses GNG. WOW. Sloppy play on display by the Packers tonight.
I'll make my predictions early.
San Francisco 28 New York 17
San Francisco has proven they can play an offense oriented game by defeating the Saints, but now their defense has some playoff exposure, and look for them to settle down and take control over New York. Smith is all about consistency, and he'll stay the way he has been all year, which won't give New York the easy turnovers they got this game (or the easy points they got as a result of those turnovers).
New England 38 Baltimore 20
Baltimore's offense (read Joe Flacco in the QB-oriented NFL) is the opposite of Alex Smith--inconsistent. They depend on Ray Rice having a monster performance to beat the Patriots, but the linebacking core I saw on Sunday reminded me of the good old days, the days of Bruschi and Vrabel, and the defense will play their hearts out (AGAIN) to prove to all the haters that they are the real deal. And look for Brady to go to work on the Ravens, he is on a revenge trip this week.

Wow 0-2 yesterday. Dayum.
Pats should win, but the Ravens in the playoffs scare me. Ray Lewis. Eeeeeeeee..... Still like the home boys 32-21.
Early week I like Eli, they are riding a hot streak and seem unbeatable. Their makeshift D is coming together. Somehow, someway, they find a way to pull this one out against the stingy Niners. I don't think the Niners are ready for prime time. Giants were MADE for prime time. Sets up a nice little rematch from the season that will not be spoken of. Giants 28-17.
