Games for 5/2
Double header on the bill today at Holman Stadium. Dover at BG at 4 p.m. and Keene at North at 7 p.m. Both games should be good to watch.

Re: Games for 5/2
BG took care of Dover, pretty easily it looked like judging by the score, 7-0. See another thread for a synopsis of that game.
North beat Keene 4-0. Turner pitched another gem, giving up 3 hits and walking one or two. The defense behind Turner was outstanding. Mike Muise made a terrific diving stab on a would be base hit and threw out the runner at first. A timely 6-4-3 (Karkhanis, Muise, Breen) double play in the 7th inning subdued a potential Keene comeback. Connor Root of North came in to fan the final batter of the game.
North got timely hits from Jake Mellin, Turner, Muise, and Kelvin Rodriguez. Mellin and Turner put North up 2-0 during the middle frames. Muise and Rodriguez added to the total with RBI singles in the bottom of the 6th giving North some insurance runs.
Good defensive game: the Keene centerfielder (don't know his name) made two outstanding plays on a bomb hit by Joe Breen and what would have been a double by Adam Leith. The kid laid out in mid air to ensnare Leith's sharp liner.
North is back in action on Wednesday against Winnacunnet and against Nashua South on Friday. North will be busy as they have 7 games in the next 12 days.

I stayed and watched a few innings. Turner is as good as advertised, as is North. Weather could be a factor going forward this week.

nyk - is Jake OK (I think it was him - the triple)? That slide into 3B was not exactly what one would call text book... The infield at Holman is deceiving - it looks nice, but as players tell me it's a 1-2" layer of dirt on top of what feels like concrete when you slide on it.

Not sure about Jake. He did have to leave the game and seek the trainer.
