Championship day?
Nice discussion yesterday on WGAM Radio talking about the class L and then class I championship games on March 20th at UNH. Games are scheduled to go off at 1 for class I and 4 for class L. There does not seem to be enough time between those game times to clear the gym and reopen for the class L game. So how tough is it going to be a good seat with class I fans not wanting to get out? The question was posed that the university use the Whittemore Center. Love to hear some discussion of this. THoughts?

Re: Championship day?
They will make everyone leave and go out into the concession area etc shut the doors to the gym for a bit and then re-open... that's how they did semis

WOW that is going to be a quick turn around.
Think about it, class I is at 1. Done by 2:20-2:30 then awards ceremony, cutting down of the nets, hopefully getting little Mikey off the ladder.. lol
clear the gym by 3:15 and refill for a 4 oclock game. I am thinking more time between should have been scheduled.

I'm not saying it is a good plan... but they'll still do it.
worse than clearing out the gym and such will be traffic

Re: Championship day?
They will totally clear out the gym for the Class I game and make you pay again to get in for the Class L game. It just makes financial sense. If the class I game goes longer with OTs, etc., then the logistics of getting 3 to 4 thousand people out and another 2,500 to 3,500 people in will be real interesting. I presume at least a few hundred fans will attend both games. The UNH parking lot access ways are not the best, not to mention 1 way in and 1 way out road by the UNH pastures.
Should they play at the Whittemore? Probably not. The atmosphere for a basketball game at the Whit stinks. It was built for hockey and not basketball. I've always felt disconnected when attending a b-ball game at the Whit.

I agree about the Whit... I missed the intensity of Lundholm when they did do the Whit.
I will probably go see both Class I & Class L... therefore securing a good parking spot.... and a nice pretzel as they clear the crowds....
Two great games of basketball... I don't mind paying the extra ticket~!

Agreed, I will be there all day.
I just question the time they have booked. I hope that the turn around time is enough to do what they ask. In Indiana it is done in sessions. You buy a ticket for the first two games then leave and come back for next two. Different place and different numbers allows that. My question is still is an hour enough time for the complete change over? I hope so.

Maybe, members of the NH Sports Forum could help with crowd control, traffic control and any other logistical problems UNH will have with these games at 1:00 and 4:00 pm. What do you think Assistant? You could assign us tasks to do or departments to cover.
I nominate ChiKid for head of referee security.

Re: Championship day?
haha ChiKid for sure is all over the security.
I think we'll throw Tully on vehicular traffic control, T&F on crowd control...they're the most qualified "moderators" of such situations. I'll take the door, administering entry to the games.
I suppose "BigMan44" and "BigBlue" would be on concessions. Of course our newest member "tarrier" will handle all announcements and issue instructions to the masses as we filter them in and out...
For some reason I feel like Jeremy will be selling programs...

Well... I think we need to haul out the aceboard winnie and paint the new logo on it...
And I thought Jeremy would be doing game balls?

Championship Day
Glad to be here! I've really enjoyed the back and forth you guys have...and of course the passion for NH high school sports. And if it makes you feel any better Jeremy, the other night while I was in Milford somebody saw me keeping score of and reporting on the game...and asked me if I was you!
