Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
Standings after an exciting night of prelim games:
1) Tulliver - 26
2) T & F - 24
3) Justin - 15
4) Pejo1 - 13
5) Tarrier and baller1 - 11
7) Bosco - 10
8th) tiger46, jumpshot and NH12345 - 9
11) The Edge, basketballdad and HoopFan4 - 8
14) SeacoastDad (D2 Guy - nuff said ) and nhsports6 - 6
Tulliver and T & F benefit from the Titan upset of the Little Green. When was the last time a Central basketball team lost a prelim game? I'm all ears if anyone knows that answer. I'm surprised South only scored 42 against Trinity. The Pembroke win over Memorial was one for the ages. It was just played at another level. It was worthy of a semi final game. This game had everything. When I get the energy I'll try to give you a good feel for the game of the night over on the NH Notebook.

T&F - help me with the math here. If every prelim game is worth 2 points and there were 8 games how could anybody score more than 16? and how could anybody have anything other than an even score as any number times 2 is an even result? Where you suffering from the effects of the alcohol you consumed due to Memorial being eliminated in the 1st round ?

Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
I didn't check his math.... but I think it's due to this portion of the rules...
Underdog winner points: For example if you pick #10 to beat #7 then you get 2 points for the prelim winner and 3 points for the seed differential. This holds true in the quarters, semis and Ship. This should make for some interesting picks because personally, I don't think there's a heck of a lot of difference between the top and bottom of the 16 teams.

Well that will teach me to read all the rules. I stand corrected. In light of this I would like to change my picks to North over Central and Trinity over South.

Nice picks Edge!
I didn't read it either at first.... when I saw his math I went back and re-read.
I'm guessing that T&F will have an emoticon-filled response later!

Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
I want to know if anyone had inside information that Kante wasn't going to suit up last night. I feel as thought withholding that information could have really altered our brackets.
I'm going with edge, I'd like to change my first round pick to North over Central now that I know Kante isn't playing.

Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
There are rumors & heresay that float around and make their way to the rumor mill here there & everywhere.
like 1 coach told me before his game last night that it was a plus that everyone of his kids showed up for the game last night. 0 sthere is some teams that show up with their full rosters and others that are always changing you can't have it as a given. Its 2015.

Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
You are absolutely right . . . even though Doc has had great success keeping his players on the court night in and night out it is still not a guarantee of who will show up
I still like my chances with 3 of my 4 final four teams in play.

Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
Hadn't heard about Kante not being available for the game - that's a rough one for Central. I don't recall this being as much of an issue until the last few years. Â Seems like most schools are in good shape in terms of having their teams show up for each game throughout the season, with the occasional discipline issue. The 3 public Manchester schools have had more than their fair share of off court issues impacting their respective teams. It would be very tough to coach under those circumstances and I give all three coaches tremendous credit for doing all they can for these kids.

Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
I am really interested in knowing. I did the game for Manchester Public TV last night and Kante not being there was a surprise. Also Central losing was just shell-shocking on its own. I did see some of the players were kind of chriping at Kante on Twitter after the game for comments he made and one of them said Kante "hung them out to dry". Not sure but it looks like the Lancers are in control now. Great season again for Doc's team but just a bitter finish.

Ahh yes, Twitter. a/k/a gutless form of way of communicating with team mates and opponents in today's world..... And a great way to get in trouble with your team mates, opponents or your superiors.
Memo to players: Try to regain the form of communication and maturity by communicating with people face to face instead of hiding behind the veil of 2015 social media...... Just saying.

Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
Here are the standings after the Quarterfinals. Tulliver is looking like a TITAN after being the only Forum member to correctly call all 4 quarterfinal games
Even though Tulliver is in 1st after her TITAN-ic night of picking she is still a
1) Tulliver 47
2) T & F 32 - Have I told what a noble and passionate job the defending champ is doing defending his Championship?
3) Pejo1 25
4) Baller1 and Tarrier with 23
6) Bosco 22 - Still pulling for the splendid guy even though he hasn't got a shot now.
7) Basketballdad and The Edge with 20
9) Justin Mc - 19
10) Jumpshot, NH12345 and Tiger46 with 17
13) Hoopfan4 - 16
14) NHsports6 and SeacostDad with 14.
I will reiterate with regards to SeacoastDad: A D2 guy trying to compete in a D1 Bracket contest

Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
It looks like the following Forum members are still alive to win the Bracket Contest:
Tulliver has Lond and Pinky winning the semis and Lond winning the Ship.
Both NH12345 and Tiger46 have Spaulding and Pinky winning the semis and both have Pinky winning the Ship. If both those teams win the semis and if Pinkerton takes the crown then it'll come down to the total ship point tie-breaker: NH has 121 and Tiger has 110.
Justin's eggs are firmly in a Red Raider & Titan basket. If Spaulding wins the Ship and beats North in doing so (Pinkerton has to lose to North) then Justin walks home with the coveted Forum Bracket Ship.
There is irony in the fact Tulliver could lose the Bracket Contest and have North possibly torpedo her Ship
I know this comes as devastating and disheartening  news to the majority of Forum members, but T & F is eliminated from winning his back to back Ships. I feel I put forth my best efforts, left it all on the Forum table and can hold my head high I defended my Title with class and nobility

Re: 2015 D1 Boys' Playoff Bracket Contest
At this point the has the Bracket contest locked up. Congratulations to her!! She ran away with the title. Very impressive that the Ship has no bearing. Tulliver can wake up tomorrow knowing she has the crown.
NH12345 and Tiger 46 both need Pinkerton to win this Saturday to take 2nd away from the humble and low key defending champ.

Life is better in D2 anyway T&F. Jason Hughes. Pay attention next year. Quarterback, point guard, and shortstop. Best compete level in the state, hands down.
