I would think you would use the word UPSET to describe this next score:

Alvrine 28 Timberlane 27

Wow. Just wow. Any idea what happened? I couldn't make it out of work to get to the game, and even if I had I'm not sure I'd have gone, I thought for sure the Owls would've put up 50 on Alvirne.

It rained extremely hard in my neck of the woods for the last 3 hours. I'm thinking if it rained like this at Timby's field then it had to play a part in being an equalizer. Alvrine had to have forced some key turnovers which cost Timby. I clicked NHIAA's site a couple of times and refreshed a couple of times to make sure it said:

Alvrine 28 Timby 27

It still does, so Truman beats Dewey and Alvrine beats Timberlane....

Final South 30 Memorial 6

Unofficial, because I'm dealing with a teenage daughter who I've explained in 3 different ways what a RBI is in baseball and she still doesn't understand.

According to Thaler's twitter - 7-0 Plymouth over Trinity at half...
Update: QB Carmen Giampetruzzi throws 80- and 48-yard 4Q TDs. Trinity stuns Plymouth, 12-7, and snaps Bobcats' 40-game home win streak

According to Nhhssports twitter - 14-0 Hollis over Souhegan in 2Q
Update: Final: HB 35-0.

Who woulda thunk the last Milk Jug game would be Souhegan's only post season game? If they lose today - they are 0-3 in division.
Update: So who wants to bet that Souhegan will look to win this game this year???

Games we had this weekend-

St. Thomas 16 Somersworth 13 in D5-

5 more minutes and Somersworth comes back to win this one, IMOHO. Great game, I think they will have a playoff re-match, can't wait for it.

Dover 19 Spaulding 0 D2

Game was 6-0 Dover after 3, SHS Defense was terrific until wearing down in the heat. Offense needs work, though Coach Fontaine said after the game that SHS sat 3 starters for unspecified reasons. 7 kids playing 2 ways for SHS.

Dover Defense played great as usual, Offense had a hard time dealing with SHS's speed on D. Spaulding is a team you aren't going to want to play down the stretch, good to see them improving every week.

BG was beating Merrimack 23 to 6 in the 4th quarter, but holy smoly, I just heard West beat Keene 28 to 14.

Yes, that's right. West 28 Keene 14

I guess you could say D2 is upside down right now.

Merrimack had their playoff game last night. BG dusted them with a backup qb.

The natives are getting restless. There is no way Merrimack should be that bad. To many kids in that school to have so few on the team.

It really is sad to watch.

H/B 35, Souhegan 0. What has happened to the perennial powerhouse Sabers? 0-3 in Division 3 this year.

Hollis is a good team, so losing to them doesn't mean Souhegan is out. Souhegan could still run the table and make the playoffs. They have:

Central (meaningless in playoff standings)
Pembroke (easy win)
Milford (rivalry game, and Milford has no team speed...should be a win)
ConVal (not a good team...should be a win)
Pelham (painfully easy win)
Bedford (mark my words...OVERRATED)

I don't think Souhegan will win a playoff game if they make it, but I DO think they can make it if they settle down and regain some confidence.

It's not necessarily the coaching. That should be clear, since 4 different coaches have been at the helm since 2000, all with basically the same results. While I don't think Battista is "great," he's certainly no Rod Rust. Rick Urda wasn't bad either. The problem is in the Merrimack sports culture in general (and football specifically), and the fact that the youth program has had an adversarial approach to the HS program for decades.

You can't fix the Tomahawks until you clean-sweep the youth program people (politics, back-stabbing, disgusting egos) and get them to work hand-in-hand with whoever is guiding the HS program.
