Class of 2011 heading to....
Thought it might be interesting to start a thread dedicated to posting where players are heading to next year.
We might also use it to start threads in the college section because I am sure with this year's talent we will see many NH athletes representing the state with pride at new schools.

Jamie Holder- Notre Dame Prep (I know he's now in the 2012 class but here in NH he was in the 2011 class)

Sean McClung to Babson keeps the NH pipeline into the NEWMAC flowing. He will effectively be taking the roster spot of BG grad Matt Zioa who was the lone senior on this past season’s Babson squad. Hollis' Zach Etten also played at Babson and graduated in ’09..
Unfortunately for McClung, Babson has had it tough the last few years (sub .500 for each of the last 4 seasons) and has to compete in the conference with perennial national power WPI and MIT who also has been nationally ranked in the past two years.
I wish him all the best - on & off the court!

Scotty McCallum already had commited to Colby Sawyer a while back but don't think it was ever posted. Congrats to him battled injuries througout his high school career but still has an oppurtunity to keep playing. Joining him will be Milford teammate Kyle Nelson. Congrats to both of them.

Looks like the Milford duo will have some Granite State company as John Wickey is now going to Colby Sawyer.

They will have company at CSC. Ian Davis of Rochester & Zach McBey of Franklin are there. Also for those of you in the Milford area, James Tobin of Brookline was a co-captain there this year and will be a senior next year.

Correction?
I am under the assumption that Kyle Nelson is headed to DIII Gordon College, not Colby-Sawyer. Am I wrong?
The Milford connection at Colby-Sawyer and other DII/Class I Southern NH HS players going there can easily be attributed to Colby-Sawyer AD and All-Area Class L basketball player, Ryan Emerson. He is Milford Area Senior High grad and 1,100 point scorer.
T&F Good to see Wickey is headed there, personally I think he could have played at a lower end DII college or a higher end DIII Conference. I am happy he is going there though because on paper this team looks like it has some potential in a couple years. It looks to me that Wickey made his decision based on education, comfort level of being close to home and not on basketball.

Boxout - I understand your view on Wickey. I have heard from a couple of D1 HS coaches in the state they thought Wickey was a D2 player. One told me if he was a D2 coach he would scoop Wickey up in a heart beat and transform him into a solid D2 player by his soph to junior year. He based it on his shooting ability, ball handling and strength of body.
Then again..... What a D2 coach tells you and how you work into the system are 2 different things. Look at Oliver Hunter who went from St. A's to Keene. I'm from the thought to go to a program where you can have more success. We have the rest of our lives to sit in lounge chairs and Lazy-boy recliners. Sitting on a basketball bench when you are 18 to 22 years old as opposed to running around on a court during a 40 minute game is a no brainer to me.

No Nelson was looking at Gordon and was pretty interested from what I know but was never set on going there, he's going to CSC.

Just heard from Dave Haley at NHSportsPage that he bumped into John Wickey and he told him that he had de-committed from Colby Sawyer and will be playing his ball at Babson alongside BG's Sean McClung.
