The Winny girls beat Spaulding 82 - 33.
The Lady Warriors are getting that ornery edge to them. It looks like they'll be more than ready to visit #3 Memorial next Tuesday and then host #2 Pinkerton on Friday.

Central over Londonderry 55-48
John Wickey was a monster with 26 points to lead the Central Little Green to a 55-48 win at Londonderry tonight. Look for my complete recap on NHSportspage.com later on tonight!

Hello Mr Tarrier. Nice to hear from you !!!
Wickey, in my book, should get some serious consideration for POY.

Bigman, I am disappointed I was hoping you would tell the entire story
I was hoping someone besides me would tell the story of that foul and the rest of the situation. I will not cry wolf this time.

Re: Feb. 4th Game Results
Sorry I had to go pick up dinner, and that at the time was far more important, not to mention I didn't want to risk this topic being closed because someone from Milford had a complaint about something. But I will now that i've eaten. A foul had occured, the youngman from Souhegan who I do not know got in Mikey's face stepping on his feet (didn't see that part) but he was really getting into it with Mikey for no reason to be honest I was in the doorway and saw pretty much the whole thing unfold best view to see it, and Mikey didn't say anything. Holder proceeded to come over and say something in which the Souhegan player pushed him with two hands full extention, not a little nudge, T's probably should've been given out, but that's probably the Milford in me talking.

Nice to hear you listened intently.
More important that you comprehend and carry it with you right through to roughly around 2:30 pm on Saturday March 19th.

OMG - Ken Cail is reporting anything you would ever want to know about the AHL.
One of these days I'm going to start a HS basketball radio station..... with not a moment of minor league hockey.

I want to give credit
I want to give credit to a call that was made today at Souhegan. Souhegan had the ball in the front court and the ball became loose and to prevent Milford from from a steal and the last player up the floor for Souhegan was not quite to halfcourt. Player took a step and jumped into the frontcourt catching the ball in the air and landing in the front court. Some very smart fan in the second row stood up and the referee caught eye contact from across the court and immediately realized the fan was correct and called back court violation. I must admit it was the best call by a fan all year. I give that fan a ton of credit for being educated about the game and willing to assist the referee free of charge. It was a educated call by a very unselfish fan. lol

Highly doubt the official relied on a fan to make that easy back court call.
The Milford wolf is starting to make a lot of noise in the empty Milford forrest

Of Course Cause referee's are perfect. lol
Yeah ok T and F. I am telling you he was so late calling it that I at least get an assist. He was not going to until I started waving and stood up.

Ohh, so YOU admit you were the one allegedly helping the official to do his job? Wow, so nice of you.

Yes it was me, I thought the LOL was enough to give that fact away. I will not leave things out like that hoping you will catch it. I may be over estimating your investigative skills.

Re: Feb. 4th Game Results
Dave Haley tonight on WGAM about the Milford at Souhegan game said:
- O'Loughlin had 26 points and Holder had 20 points.
- Milford is the best basketball team in NH. If BG and Milford played on a neutral site Milford would win.
- Mike Mitchell is the best point guard in NH.
- Milford is very comfortable being the team to beat in D2.
- Couple of D2 coaches think Pembroke is a team that can beat Milford in the D2 tournament.

Re: Feb. 4th Game Results
Dave and I discussed Milford/BG over the phone after the game. I agreed with him. I'm sure this will start some sort of riot on the forum, but Milford has the best PG, and two best combo guards (Holder/O'Loughlin) in the state. And even though I'm from the bustling basketball metropolis of Fremont, I'm convinced (as I was last year) that MIlford is the best team in the state. Heck...I said it on here last year, I though Mike O was the best player in the state LAST YEAR...and he still is.
Just my meager opinion (no more humble opinions from me)

Re: Feb. 4th Game Results
The biggest difference in a "Pie in the Sky" BG - Milford game would be the guard play of Milford. I don't think BG's guards could handle Milford's guards. Milford would be able to throw enough bodies at McClung and Green to negate them more than BG would be able to negate the Milford's guards.
Final score Milford 76 BG 72
Why speculate? I have stated before there are enough people, resources and facilities where the D1 and D2 Champions could play during the week after Championship Saturday at UNH.
Have some fun. Do something different. Think outside the NH Basketball Box.

Thanks
Thanks for the kind words Mr Assistant. It is nice to hear positive things about the boys. I agree it would be fun but the idea of winning a state title is winning your last game. Not sure that is fair to the boys to ask them to gear it up again. But I would pay ten bucks to see it lol

Re: Feb. 4th Game Results
Newmarket 60
Derryfield 56
Well this game was a pleasant surprise. As a former DI assistant coach, I'm a little biased...I like my DI hoops. In fact this was the first DIV game I've ever seen. Both teams showed why they were 11-0 going in to this one.
Derryfield played well, tough Defense and never gave up, despite being down 7 or 8 several times. Just kept coming at Newmarket. Pounding it inside Barret Lamb (6'5"). Lamb had 14 points, his counterpart Alex Jenny had 10. Anuj Vadalia, a crafty guard who gets to the rim had 14 as well. Derryfield only shot 4/11 from the line, this hurt them. Not only that, they fouled...a lot. Newmarket was in the bonus with 3 minutes to play in the 3rd.
Newmarket is led by All Stater Adrian Edgerly. Kid went off tonight. 27 points, 3 3's, 10/16 from the line, several assists. He does everything for the Mules. Smart player, would start for any DI school, easy. Newmarket does a ton of screening in their offensive sets and their favorite play is simple, high screen for Edgerly who has the option to drive, shoot or pass to the cutter. Often times they used a guard to screen who then faded for a 3. Christian Fillion did this several times and had 11 points on 3 3's and a couple of free throws.
I was really impressed with Alex Zorn for Derryfield. When he was in the game, he played very tough defense on Edgerly. In fact, Edgerly had 18 points at halftime, but only 2 on Zorn. Zorn went out with 3 to play in the 1st quarter with 2 fouls and sat the remainder of the half. Edgerly scored 9 points after halftime with Zorn on him, but the breakdown of those points was as follows - 1 made FG, 2 made Tech FTs, 4 FTs in final minute, 1 additional FT in either 3rd or 4th. So really, he shut him down again. Can't wait to see what happens in a week and a half when these two play again.
I'll have a full recap of the game on NHSportsPage.com whenever el Editorio posts it.

Heck, even if it could happen at the local YMCA in Merrimack....or the Executive in Manchester. Pull some strings. I agree, how much fun would that be to have an unofficial State champion. We could get trophys made....
Hmmm...I know ChiKid said I'm not nearly as good as Jeremy at doing "events"...but I could start with the first ever NH Sports Forum State Championship Final 4.
DI vs. DIII
DII vs. DIV
Winners meet for all the marbles.
So you can take a hint!
