Friday 12/17 Game Thread
Time to kickoff the Class I and II seasons tonight. Please post any game predictions, information, scores, updates or recaps in this thread so we can discuss them. If there is a lot of discussion about a particular game I'll break it out into it's own thread.
Since I'm at home with a newborn eating chinese food watching movies I'll be watching twitter for game updates and try to post them as they come in here. Good luck to everybody and enjoy what should be a fantastic opening night across NH!

Prediction:
BG wins over CHS the LG does have a minor injury for Dylan Lafond and JR Brown is not playing tonight. Not sure when Dylan is back but I do believe Brown is back next game.
What would be interesting (if I could go to the game) is to how CHS handles not having two key players available today.

Well Tully is doing some serious forshadowing - word on the street is Scott McCallum is down with a ankle injury for Milford. Lucky for them they probably won't need him the rest of tonights game.
Re: Friday 12/17 Game Thread
Dover leading Trinity 34-27 after 3 quarters. Not a surprise if you ask me...not over either.
Bedford beats Oyster River 42-39 in a game that was back and forth. Bedford may be my sleeper to beat Milford this year. They go to the Milford jungle on February 8th.

Milford won 85-55, Scotty did go down, hope he has a speedy recovery not just for the teams sake but for him, last year he went down and missed a lot of his junior season would hate to see it happen again this year.

Don't know if we're talking girls at all but i'll throw it in there Kearsarge beat Milford 55-49 (may have been a free throw or 2 after I left as there was 3 seconds left. Milford was down 33-17 in the 3rd struggling with the pressure made a strong run at the end of the third with 8 pts from freshmen Jenn Dupuis which were all scored in about a minute. Milford got it within 1 (33-32) but could never finish the run and take the lead.

Girls hoop discussion is always welcome. Pinkerton, Dover, Keene and Pembroke girls all win tonight.
Re: Friday 12/17 Game Thread
BG makes a comeback and beats Central 62-55 in Nashua. Central had a 49-43 lead at one point. Outscored 19-6 to close the game out.
Re: Friday 12/17 Game Thread
Thoughts from a terrific Portsmouth vs Pembroke game-
--Controversial (non)call at the end of regulation- game tied @ 53, Charlie Duprey gets off a last second shot, Tyler Morrison gets his hand in the cylander as the shot bounces out, but no call. Might've come right at the buzzer, might've been the refs not wanting to end the game that way, might've been right after the buzzer. Very close.
-- Patrick Welch. 27 points. On fire all night, couldn't miss from 18 feet. Just a Freshman!
-- Great point guard battle between Kamahl Walker (Ports) and Rene Maher (Pembroke). The only two guys that were allowed to play somewhat phsyical with each other.
-- I was told on of our refs like to call fouls. A lot. I was not misinformed.
-- Terrence Herbert, 4 3 pointers (16 points). Only played in 1 Varsity game that I can remember last year.
Overall a terriffic game with a playoff atmosphere, Pembroke stormed out to a 13-3 lead, Portsmouth chipped away, ran out of gas in OT (Lost some D when McCarthy fouled out halfway through the 4th).

Sports Animal was DiCesare dismissed from the team or suspended what's going on with that?

"I was told on of our refs like to call fouls. A lot. I was not misinformed." Sports Animal
Sports Animal, Refs usually tell the players at the Captain's meeting to play basketball, but if they don't then the game will turn into a foul calling procession. Sounds like the captains didn't relay the message to their team mates from the refs at the captain's meeting

Re: Friday 12/17 Game Thread
This was a great opening night with some really tight games. There were big runs at key times of the game in the top 2 games. Central gave BG everything they could handle and with the LG missing some key players. Dover and Trinity played a tight intense game throughout. It went right down to the wire. Zach Stevens and Keenan Al-Darraji led their respective teams with 13 points each. This was a big win for Trinity as they are trying to mesh together a lot of players in their rotation. Merrimack had a solid victory on the road at Alvrine. Salem and Londonderry had a tight OT game with Salem getting their first victory in the post-EJ Perry era.
I did hear Scott McCallum from Milford came out of the Kearsarge game with a knee injury. Time will tell how severe it is. Bad luck for this senior as he battled the wrist injury last year.
