Opening vs Conval
Tomorrow my son and Milford open against Conval at home. I am excited to see the first game of the year. Do not bother getting there too early. There will be plenty of room to watch. lol

I was wrong
I was wrong Mike scored 2 goals and only lost by 1. Nice start for the kid considering he hasn't played soccer since 7th grade. lol

That is Funny
It is funny you say that before the game Mike told me that Richie Moore a kid from the team that also plays basketball told Mike that he can never get as many assist in soccer as he does in basketball. Mike simply told him good,no need to pass then. lol
Mike is a very good soccer player. Right now the coach is using him as a forward because of his speed but I actually think he could do more damage as a midfielder because of his field vision and his energy level would allow him to go both ways better and be more involved in every play. Mike on the other hand likes the idea of being up front and being asked to score. I guess he will have to readjust his game in December.
The article in the Telegraph is worded nicely. Senior Mike Mitchell out for soccer for the first time.. lol
As a 7th grader he scored 2-3 goals a game. It has been 5 years but I think he will put up some real good numbers this year also.

Re: Opening vs Conval
1) How was the refereeing?
2) Do you know what rule book they use in NH High School soccer?

Missed a hand ball that was Obvious
There were not to many bad calls. A hand ball that was missed and a few pushes from behind. One kid on Conval pushed on every play and got called at least 3 times. I thought he deserved a yellow but I did not have my FIBA Book to feel comfortable arguing with Dennis the lead Official.

Re: Opening vs Conval
Thanks for the update. There is no lead official in soccer. There is a referee and a linesman. I just want you to be on the same page with soccer refereeing. My worry is that in spending so much energy in "assisting" the soccer referees this fall that you won't have much energy left to "assist" the basketball referees this coming winter.
