Londonderry Empty Londonderry

Post  manchfan Fri Dec 13, 2013 1:28 pm

Well folks Londonderry does it again. Head football coach Jon Rich has been removed due to the powers at the SAU, and parent complaints. I have said this before on the post and I will say it again. . . Londonderry athletics are run by the parents for their individual child. I do not think you could pay me enough money to deal with those parents.

A lot of assumptions in that post.

FWIW
From Roger Brown's site:

http://www.nhfootballreport.com/2013/12/rich_wont_return_as_londonderr.html

I have no idea what the factors were, although it can be said Londonderry does run a fairly ancient offense...

I agree there are a lot of assumptions in manchfan's post, but it is the second sports coach gone in less than 6 months. Both of which wanted to return and had the support of the AD and Principal, or so they thought. Even if the offense was ancient; this situation is still suspect.

Listen, it's a bad enough situation to begin with. Please don't make it worse by (wrongly) accusing the parents in this situation. Let's focus on who loses out - about 70 teenage boys. It's completely unjust.

It may not be all the parents, but if history (even recent) is an indicator there can be a few very vocal parents.... And not just Londonderry mind you...

I can tell you with a great deal of certainty that this is not a parent issue for once in Londonderry.  There is one school board member who has had it in for Coach Rich over the past couple of years.  This is a very sad situation when one individual cannot appreciate all the time and effort put in by Jon and his staff over the years.  The Lancers had a couple of lean years due to the talent level which is the case at plenty of schools.  The coaching staff has always got the best from the kids and it is a shame that this happened now when it appears that they might be back on the upswing with a talented junior class that has a lot of kids who have played plenty the past couple years.  Here's to hoping for the best to Coach Rich and his staff in the future and I admire the work they put in while at Londonderry.

Interesting article in today's Union Leader about the Londonderry situation.
