D-2 Semifinals Time Change Empty D-2 Semifinals Time Change

FYI - The D-2 semifinal games for Thursday have been moved to earlier times. Portsmouth vs Windham is now at 1:00pm, and Goffstown vs Sanborn is at 4:00pm. I'm assuming that it has to do with the weather forecast. There's only a 20% chance of rain through 10:00pm Thursday, but a much heavier chance on Friday. I'm sure they want to do everything possible to get the championship games in on Saturday.

It's too bad that there will be very few student fans at the 1:00 game, and probably some parents who can't get out of work will miss the game as well.

Best of luck to all teams.

D-2 Semifinals Time Change Empty Re: D-2 Semifinals Time Change

That's a shame... It never ceases to amaze me what the NHIAA does. This past Saturday (quarterfinal day) was also an SAT test day. For JR's on teams in the playoffs it's 1 of 2 chances in the spring to take those all important tests - some may take them both times. Since baseball players need those scores for college it would stand to reason some flexibility could be scheduled in *months* in advance by the NHIAA. While the NHIAA recognized and noted it in their P&P (on page 2) and probably also in memos to coaches - it still decided that games would be played that day and not moved to say Sunday. But yet given the "chance" of rain - they'll make an adjustment so that the rest of their schedule plans don't go awry (e.g. Sat at Fishercat Stadium). So does education take a back seat when the NHIAA decides the athletic contest is more important? How do schools handle it if say a player (or players) has (have) an important test on Thu? What if one of those schools involved was holding exams/finals? For instance, BG starts finals today and while the kids are out at Noon-ish - game travel & preparation means they'd have to miss the 1015 exam???
