New Hampton PF Noah Vonleh Getting Big Time Offers
Once again a Prep star from NH (in this case the NH stands for New Hampton) is making a splash with DI collegiate coaches. Today, he just picked up an offer from North Carolina and Roy Williams, but is also being looked at by BC, UCONN, Kansas, Kentucky, PITT, Providence and Syracuse. Not bad.
He's the #1 rated PF in the Class of 2014, and at 6'8", 210 is quite a prospect.
Here's a couple videos for your off season enjoyment.

Noah is actually from Haverhill, Mass and not NH. Still, he's a good kid and an outstanding player. Has a good chance to make it to the NBA someday if he keeps working hard and keeps his head on straight. An absolute animal though and a very fun player to watch. If anyone out there hasn't seen him player in person yet they should.

I know he's not from NH, he plays for New Hampton in NH however, which is what I was implying. And yes he's absolutely a NBA talent given he continues to work hard and improve. The big decision for him, as it is with all kids looking to play at the next level, is finding a system that promotes his strengths and can improve his weaknesses.

One of the interesting things with Vonleh is he hasn't decided whether to reclassify or not yet. He was a Junior this season, but has the option to repeat should he feel necessary. Most scouts think he'll ultimately be a member of the 2014 class.
Interesting how recruiting plays into the decision to reclassify. I cannot say whether or not academics play into his personal situation, but lets be honest here, most of the time this is a basketball decision. I know we've been down this road on the forum before, and I really don't have an opinion either way, but this is certainly a factor in this young man's recruitment with college coaches now starting to recruit their 2014 classes.

Actually Noah has reclassified, he became a member of the Class of 2014 when he transferred from Haverhill High to New Hampton last fall. NERR and ESPN both have him listed as a 2014 recruit.

Yes that is what the recruiting sites say, but there is some speculation with the right situation he could reclassify back to 2013.

Nice to see the basketball banter on the Forum is still as competitive as the NBA playoffs.

BTW - His body and outside shot is very similar to Harrison Barnes.

Not a bad comparison T&F. Vonleh has a bit more length (and height) on Barnes, and probably not as good a jumper, but they're game is pretty similar. I think this bodes well for Vonleh since he's really projected as a PF vs Barnes being a SF. You can't teach height, and when a big guy like Vonleh has height, handle and shooting ability (not to mention defensive prowess), NBA scouts notice. My guess is he's a 2 year guy in college in the right situation. Maybe even one and done.

With the way things are going with early commitals to the NBA draft, like Kentucky's starting 5, I would be surprised if Vonleh stayed 2 years in college.
