On the offensive side of the ball no less. Would I throw my name in the ring if I was a certain high profile EX high school coach who happens to live in Manchester. Oh yeah the incoming qb played his high school football where, oh thats right Bishop Guertin. Just saying...
See T@F, this is juicy stuff where speculation can run wild, not your girl's summer league shedule.

Wow, GNG is back from his Forum hibernation. How was it sleeping with lions, tigers and bears in the woods in back of the Jade?

OH MY !!!

Funny you should mention the word speculation and the asst job at St. A's because although you are doing a good job of connecting the dots we'll see if your dot connecting is finalized with a certain hs coach who recently "stepped down" from his post does in fact apply for this St. A's job.

Now, not speculating at all and going with hard fact on the thrilling girl's summer league schedule at Memorial.....Very enticing matchup on Monday July 11th at 4:30 pm. BG plays Londonderry.......ENTICING !!

I'm sure by now all the talented ladies from both of these squads are done playing AAU, so this could be a real good summer league game if the USS BG and USS Londonderry have their full supply of cannon-ettes.

Nice to see you're still alive, GNG. {Speculation} was running wild something had happened to you and you were one of the main courses at the Jade:

General GNG Gau's Chicken

Glad the {speculation} has ended Wink

GNG, I didn't realize Mark moved Razz

The existing Manchester resident whom you reference was more involved on the defensive side of the ball. OK, yes he had his hand in everything, but offense wasn't the primary focus...

Now do as T&F says - go to a relaxing Girls Basketball game on Monday, then hit up your favorite Manch sports bar/hangout. I think T&F is thirsty for more than just juicy tidbits of football trivialities... (is that even a word!?!)!

GNG has hit so many bar/hangouts where he is batting over .750 with bar hits. I don't think he'll have to wait 5 years to make the bar/hangout HOF because he'll never retire. They'll just have to name a corner or stool after him to confirm HOF status.

trivialities..... With all the urban dictionaries and urban lexicon I'm sure this is a word somwhere. I know at the Jade and The Flats after a while there are a lot of words that become lexiconic. On some Saturday nights my phone has received a few phone calls from GNG and his entourage where my lexicon has been stretched because GNG and his entourage are doing their lexiconic stretching. Some Saturdays I feel like Richard Dreyfuss in Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind trying to communicate with beings from another world.

The new asst. football coaching staff at ST. Anselm has been assembled......

Who breaks the story first? Marc Thaler, Tom King,or Jaime Staton.

Yes, GNG, it will be interesting to see the "ripple effects" from this situation. Needless to say once the story breaks on the regular informational outlets, then we will be buzzing here on the Forum once again.

Seeing it's not official yet, we have to rely on people "connecting the dots."

So, if you are a Forum member and good at "connecting the dots", then read an excerpt from one of my previous posts on this thread:

"Funny you should mention the word speculation and the asst job at St. A's because although you are doing a good job of connecting the dots we'll see if your dot connecting is finalized with a certain hs coach who recently "stepped down" from his post does in fact apply for this St. A's job."

Kudos to the Forum members who are good at "connecting the dots."

Now, as far as what ball is in what court for a decision to be made........

.......Phhhhhttttttttt.

The above non-word is the sound of a can of worms being opened.

The NH Football Report by Roger Brown is reporting that Tony Johnson is now an Asst football coach at ST. Anselm, but the forum readers already knew that. What an absolute steal for ST. Anselm's. They are getting a GREAT coach. I told you forum members way back when he would be coaching somewhere come fall. That is what coaches do, they coach. It's in their blood.

Now comes the interesting part. Remember Brother Marc stated that he was being removed as football coach so he could concentrate full time on being athletic directer. {everyone familar with the story knows total bs}

Bishop Guertin is screwed either way. Keep him and look like idiots for firing him in the first place, or fire him from athletic directer and look like idiots for letting go the man who put BG on the map as the place to go if you wanted to play sports and get a great education. Either way Guertin comes out looking bad. I wonder if Brother Marc wishes he would have listened to ALL the people who contacted him saying what an unfair sham this all was.

I feel bad for Travis Cote. I wonder if he knew what he was getting in to.

My prediction on next to go, Brother Marc. Now there is the guy who should be fired.

I wonder if the Cuipa's are going to have a party to celebrate this unbelievable news. I don't know if my liver can handle another one of their bashes.

So, now it's official.

After the BG Admin gave Tojo the choice, some would say "coerced", of stepping down as BG football coach to concentrate on his AD duties, he takes the assistant job at St. A's.

Rolling, rolling rolling rolling rolling rolling....... Stop !!!

The above sound is the ball that just rolled into the Bg Admin's court to make a decision. They told Tojo to concentrate on his AD duties and step down as football coach. Does the BG Admin let go of Tojo from his AD position over this? Does Tojo resign? Does Tojo go about his business as Bg's AD waiting for the BG Admin to do something? If the BG Admin does nothing they will look like Fredo in The Godfather. You remember:

"Fredo..... Is weak."

This dynamic will be interesting to follow in the next week or two. Either way BG will lose out on this situation. Players, coaches and parents.

The ball is now firmly planted in the court of the BG Administration. The BG people turn their lonely eyes to you.

I will say this - if the BG admin didn't see this coming when they asked TJ to focus on his AD responsibilities...they are blind. That said, what he does in his free time should be up to him...as long as he devotes his working time to BG athletics it is what it is.

Of course we can all imagine how much time being an Asst at the College level takes up. Hard to believe he'll do both effectively. I suppose if anybody can take on that type of responsibility and commitment it'd be him. I hope his wife enjoys eating alone! Busy guy...

BG Admin made their bed. Now, it's their choice if they want Tojo to sleep in it or tell him to sleep in another one. Like I said, the ball is clearly in the Admin's court. The BG Admin put Tojo between a rock and a hard place. Tojo has now put the BG Admin between a hard place and an even harder place. Something tells me Tojo will stay on as AD and force the BG Admin into either making a decision or send them cowering back into their offices saying WTF do we do now? It's one month before the school year starts. If the BG Admin lets go of Tojo the Catholic crap will hit the religious fan at 194 Lund Rd. Some one will be thrown to the wolves to run all the athletics at BG. If BG Admin lets Tojo stay on every one will look at them and say score one for Tojo.

The Bg Admin went and fixed a smooth running entity that wasn't broken. Sometimes, when you fix things that aren't broken, well....you wind up breaking them.

Tom King has an article in the Telegraph. His last sentence nails it.

BG administration is going to let him do both jobs. I would love to be a fly on the wall in Brother Marc's office. He must be fuming. He sure comes off looking like a clown on this one. Remember when Tojo was ASKED to step down so he could concentrate on his athletic directer duties. Wouldn't it be easier to concentrate on his duties if he was at 194 Lund Rd instead of 100 ST. Anselm Dr?

Brother Marc remembers all to well what the backlash from letting him go as football coach was like. He knows if he let him go as AD the repercussions would be unbelievable. I know people that have gone to see Bishop McCormick over this matter. Brother Marc has very little support over there right now, very little. Tojo knows this and was clever enough to wait until the last minute to make this move.

Winner- TOJO . All I can say is WELL PLAYED TOJO,WELL PLAYED.
Loser- Brother Marc.Wipe that egg off your face brother. People in the know say he will be gone from lund rd sooner then later
Feel bad for- Travis Cote. Is he just keeping the seat warm until Brother Marc is gone? It must stink knowing that your boss wants your job.

What a mess.

I get the feeling when Tojo is in a meeting with the BG Admin his mind must think of that memorable line from the great Stealers Wheels song:

"Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right, Here I am,,,, stuck in the middle with you."

And here is the last line as GNG says had, "head nailing" to it from the King article:

"The move certainly supports the popular view that when he gave up the Guertin football job after 16 seasons and six Division II state titles, Johnson was not ready to entirely give up his coaching career."

So, if I'm the parent of a BG football player, I ask the BG Admin today:

Why in GOD'S name didn't you let Tojo keep the BG coaching job in the first place?

Well, BG people, just think.... You have clowns to the left of you, jokers to the right and there you are, stuck in the middle.

I just got off the phone with a parent of a current player. "Anger and frustration" are the two words he used to describe his feelings over the situation. Pretty much sums it up.

Check out the following paragraph in Jeremy's story on the Tojo hiring:

"Tony and I have had a good relationship ever since I've been here" said Coach Murphy, who is entering his fourth season at the helm for St. A's. "Each year on December 1 when I'm able to start recruiting, Tony is always the first coach that I go and talk to. So when he came to me asking about coaching here it was a no-brainer for me to hire him."

The line sticking out like a swelling sore thumb amongst the other healthy 9 fingers is.....

....."it was a no-brainer for me to hire him."

Hmmmm, I could say something for the flip side at the place Tojo left a coaching position, but I won't.

Yea, I would say the line of the BG Admin "not insulting our intelligence" is the line that really burns through. The people who really had their intelligence insulted are the current players and parents of the BG football team. If I were any of them my approval rating with the BG Admin would be similar to Obama's.

Based on reading those comments, is it true that it was a parent threatening a lawsuit that caused the BG Admin to have him step down as Head FB coach?
