According to NHIAA (just checked) - North is playing at 7PM (see http://www.nhiaa.org/trn_gamedisplay.cfm?GID=3574)

Thanks JAF. I thought for sure North would pick the 4pm game. Now we don't have to wait until 7.

#&^%$^ Kids! Now they extend the parents' nerves for an additional 3 hours. Kids just love to add stress to our lives. I personally thought they would have taken the 4 p.m. slot since most of our games were played at 4. No predicting teenagers!
Good luck to BG. I'll be there early to catch the action in your game.

Good luck to you as well nyk. I will be there for your game. How many 1st round upsets? I say at least 3, maybe 4.

NYK states: "Now they extend the parents' nerves for an additional 3 hours. Kids just love to add stress to our lives."
Glad to see I'm not alone in being stressed out on game day!
Good luck to BG and North on Thursday. You guys have kept this forum intersting and informative for us.

Back at you bb603. I think your game is going to be a fun one to watch. Good Luck. On the parental nerve situation, in football I was fine, in basketball I was a mess, in baseball it's been a walk in the park. Win or lose this class will be known as the class that got BG baseball back on track.

Re: Brackets are official
Upon initial inspection I'm kind of feeling #6 Concord to do some serious damage in the bottom part of the bracket.
On the Tully % scale I give Concord a 60% chance to get to the final four.

It could be that many, I hope it's not my team! :^) The championship team will bring their "A" game for 4 games.GNG wrote: Good luck to you as well nyk. I will be there for your game. How many 1st round upsets? I say at least 3, maybe 4.

Likewise, it was good to get perspective on the other teams in the conference. Living in Nashua, it's easy to keep up to speed on the 3 Nashua teams, but we don't get much info on the other teams, and we can't count on the local newspaper to fill in those blanks.

Concord is far from being a bottom bracket team. In my opinion they are very solid and will provide stiff competition to any team. They are capable of winning it all.Tuesday and Friday wrote:Upon initial inspection I'm kind of feeling #6 Concord to do some serious damage in the bottom part of the bracket.

Re: Brackets are official
T@F , my question with Concord is pitching depth. I don't know if they bring enough guns to the fight.
I just went thru their record they give up a little over 4 runs a game which is respectable. This is another game that an upset could be in order. Exeter has been in 15 out of the 18 games they played. They just played Concord on the last day of the season and lost 2-1.
Very hard 1st round game for Concord.

IMHO... I think that Merrimack will win D1... When I saw them they were a solid club... Have good pitching (if on)... Just one mans opinion

Re: Brackets are official
Merri has a good as chance as anyone... They drew a tough 1st round opponent though and will probably need to use Damon to get by. I hear the Keene #1 is pretty solid. If they get past that - their next opponent is the survivor of Concord & Exeter. If Hudon's on, then that'll really help...
Can you give us anything more!

"Concord is far from being a bottom bracket team. In my opinion they are very solid and will provide stiff competition to any team. They are capable of winning it all.." NYK
Nyk, let me clarify. I'm saying "bottom" of the bracket as you look at the bracket as presented by NHIAA when you look at the "top" 8 teams in one bracket and the "bottom" 8 teams in the other bracket.
I'm not saying "bottom" as in lacking in talent or play.

My bad, I misunderstood. I really don't know what Concord has for pitching. I do know those boys can hit as evidenced by the 13 (albeit some of those were unearned) runs Concord scored on North.
Regarding predictions, obviously I want North to win, but I really think this is going to be a much tougher tournament than in season's past. I really feel as any team in the top 8 can win this thing if they can stay away from the bad inning and get timely hits.
I would love to see the NHIAA move to a double elimination format because the best team usually prevails, and it gives each team a minimum of two games instead of one. We don't play enough baseball up here and this would be an easy way to increase the number of games. But now I digress...
