Checking out NHSportsPage and noticed a nice little squad that's been put together for the "Spartans" undergrad team in the BST Classic.

Also the BST Jr. Team

Couple of other notable names on the "Free Agents" squad from the Post Grad Division.

Here's a link to the schedule - it's not populated with teams yet but I'm sure will be shortly.

BST college league starts tomorrow. I am trying to piece together some summaries for the 6 college squads that will be represented. I assume Chikid will be there for the afternoon session and can give us some insights. I have too many things on the "Honey Get It Done Already!" list, so I doubt I will be able to attend.

The Spartans team will face a tough opponent to start in Brandeis, if all their main guns show up. Brandeis has won the undergrad division in 2 of the last 3 years with WPI winning 2 years ago.

First, the Non-NH college teams

Babson Beavers
10-15 last year, lost in the opening round of the NEWMAC tournament. Babson graduated only Zoia(9.9ppg). He accounted for 15% of the scoring.

Babson is led by 2nd team all-conference Russell Braithwaite(12.2ppg, 5.2rpg), Alex Rudolph(10.4ppg, 4.0rpg), Kris Noonan(9.4ppg, 5.0rpg), Marcus McDermott(9.4ppg, 2.1rpg), Matt Florio(6.9ppg, 1.9rpg), Matt Palazini(6.7ppg, 1.5rpg), Joe Zavertnik(3.2ppg, 2.1rpg), Peter Foley(2.8ppg, 4.3rpg), Connor Boyen(1.1ppg, 1.1rpg), Andrew Gendron(0.7ppg, 0.0rpg), Tom Lavin(0.7ppg, 0.4rpg), Colin Russell(0.6ppg, 0.5rpg), Dan Fleming(0.6ppg, 0.6rpg), Trevor Tierney(0.3ppg, 0.3rpg), Aaron Irmas(0.3ppg, 0.1rpg), David Warren(0.0ppg, 0.0rpg)

Babson's incoming class includes BG's Sean McClung and apparently Central's John Wickey.

WPI Engineers
23-6 last season, ranked in the Top 25 most of the year reaching as high as #10, NEWMAC Regular season champs, lost to Amherst in the 2nd round of the NCAAs. WPI graduated Robinson(16.2), Nadaeu(7.1), Etten(5.4), Stock(0.6) They accounted for 41% of the offense.

The Engineers return 4 seniors including 1st-team all-conference center Matt Carr(11.9ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.9bpg), Fernando Perez(6.6ppg, 3.5rpg), Jerome Stewart(5.4ppg, 3.1rpg), Jamie Shannon(4.6ppg, 2.1apg) & David Brown(1.9ppg, 1.1rpg). They also have David White(2.9ppg, 1.5rpg), Ryan Kolb(2.6ppg, 2.0rpg), Joe Wesoloski(2.5ppg, 1.6 rpg), Mike Byron(2.0ppg, 0.9rpg), Jameel Galloway(1.6ppg, 2.6rpg), Craig Melillo(1.9ppg 0.5apg) & Ricardo Bonhomme(1.5ppg, 1.4rpg)

According to NERR they also have 2 of the top guards from Mass in Marco Coppola & Sam Longwell coming in this year as well as forward Will Michalski.

Brandeis Judges
19-9 last season, nationally-ranked as high as #13 in the country & won the ECAC New England Tournament. Brandeis graduated only Yemga(5.6ppg). He accounted for 8% of the offense.

Brandeis returns 2nd-team all-conference guard Tyrone Hughes(8.6ppg, 3.5rpg, 4.7 apg), honorable mention all-conference center & leading scorer Youri Dascy(10.1ppg, 5.0rpg), Vytus Kriskus(9.7ppg, 4.2rpg), Ben Bartoldus(8.6ppg, 2.6rpg), Derek Retos(7.1ppg, 1.2 rpg), Anthony Trapasso(5.1ppg, 2.5rpg), Jay Freeman(3.7ppg, 1.4 rpg), Alex Stoyle(3.6ppg, 1.9rpg), Ruben Kanya(3.4ppg,2.3rpg), Alex Schmidt(3.1ppg, 2.9rpg), Wouter van der Eng(0.8ppg, 1.3rpg), Len Chenfeld(0.7ppg, 0.4rpg), Holden Collick(0.0ppg, 0.0rpg)

Brandeis has 6'6" forward Ishmael Kalilou and PG Myles Brilhante leading their recruitment class.

Very interesting that WPI & Babson are in the same summer league. A lot of coaches do not want their teams playing conference opponents during summer league play.
