D1-Everybody Playing Each Other
The guys on WGAM just were saying since everybody plays each other going into the playoffs you have a solid idea of how they're going to approach you. (wasn't said like that but pretty much what I took from it) Which made me think, do you D1 guys like that everybody plays each other once? Not always but there are quite a few times in D2 there will be teams meeting in the playoffs for the first time.

Mostly true - only Keene and Dover didn't play each other.

I like the fact that in D2 that you're aren't consistently playing the same teams year after year, but I don't like that there are so many teams that play each other twice or even more. Example Pelham and Milford will be playing for the third time, and if Milford were to advance and if Souhegan were to beat Portsmouth they'd be playing Milford for a 4th time, it'd be for the 'ship so I wouldn't mind it since they're big rivals but I think it'd be better had they only played once or twice. I don't know just wanted a D1 perspective, since there's never to much talk about there scheduling and in D2 half of the discussions this season were about the scheduling.

Forgot to answer your other question... I don't think it matters come playoff time regarding how you approach a team. Coaches know each others styles and they have scouts (parents) letting them know about upcoming opponents. By the time playoffs roll around there's not a whole lot you can change about how you play or how you defend/approach the other team. A good coach will make adjustments during the game anyway. Play your game, force the other team to play your style.
I'm in favor of creating 4 smaller regional based conferences within a division where each team plays a home&home and then devise some system to play teams from other conferences. Playoffs could be top 2 or top 4 from each conference play each other and then move on to play winner of each other conference. Variety is nice and playing everyone is certainly a "goal", but only if you can play everyone.
