D1 Boy's All State COY and POY
Remember, they have 6 players on the All State teams. So, in accordance with that here are my All State teams for D1 Boys:
1st Team All State:
Dimitri Floras
Joe Gallant
Connor Green
David Madol
Sean McClung
John Wickey
2nd Team All State:
Mike Colby
Caleb Donnelly
Morgan Faustino
Tyler Gendron
Shomari Morgan
Dominic Paradis
Honorable Mention:
Matt Barr
Gabe LaCount
Wol Majong
Jeff Meisser
Anthony Muccioli
Zach Stevens
Coach of the Year:
Rob McLaughlin - Salem
I had Salem around 10th on my pre season picks. McLaughlin was taking over for Perry and had big shoes to fill. He had Salem playing hard the whole season. They are a well coached team and he almost obtained a top 4 seed.
I give consideration to the jobs Jeff Gustavson of Londonderry and Tim Cronin of Spaulding did with their respective teams this season.
Player of the Year:
3rd place: John Wickey - Central. He had a real solid year from start to finish. He was so steady week in and week out.
2nd place: David Madol - Memorial. Some nights he would have unbelievable stat lines and other nights it seemed his stat lines were rather pedestrian. The difference is that a Madol pedestrian performance would be most player's outstanding performance.
POY - Connor Green and Sean McClung - BG. I have grown tired of hearing "those two will cancel each other out" when it comes to this year's POY and with past voting when there are 2 very good players on one team. So, this year I'm giving my POY to these 2 scoring machines from BG. I said it. I did it and I feel better now !!

Your the one who said these tournaments would be biblical. You just showed me the wisdom of Solomon. Nicely played.
My team would be the same except I would switch Dimitri for Shomari. I also would move Gendron to 3rd team and move Majong to 2nd
My coach of the year is the Alvirne coach.

I appreciate the wisdom correlation, GNG. Remember it is Solomon who had wisdom, wealth and power. I guess you are giving me credit for one out three. I'll take it.

I also think your list looks really good T&F. Instead of switching Morgan and Floras, though, I would actually switch Donnelly and Floras. Even with Alvirne's struggles early in the year, he has been playing at a very high level throughout the season. He never gave up during that extremely tough first half schedule, his team never gave up and nobody now would be surprised to see them advance into the later rounds of the tournament. They are a very dangerous team, and I think his effort and leadership throughout the season have definitely earned him 1st team recognition.
