Feb. 5th Games.... Postponements & Re-schedulings

It looks like the weather is the biggest story for tonight's games. There are over 300 schools closed today because of the snow storm. Some school districts have different policies for weather cancelling school, but still scheduling games that night. There's some big districts closed today including Bedford, Derry, Manchester and Nashua. I know Manchester has the policy of no school then no after school activities.

If, any of you hear that games are still on tonight, then post it here.

If, any of you hear of any rescheduling for games postponed tonight, especially if the games are rescheduled to tomorrow or early next week, feel free to post it.

So, here's a slow snowy day story for you:

Memorial is scheduled to play Trinity tonight. With Trinity being a private school and Memorial located so close to Trinity, this is a game that actually could be played tonight. Trinity is not subject to the MSD policies of "No school - No after school activities."

So, with the Trinity/Snow theme, here is the story:

A few years ago Trinity had a big game and I forgot who the opponent was. It was postponed on a Friday night. This was towards the end of the season, so the visiting team wanted to make it up that weekend at Trinity. The Pioneers informed the visiting team their plow guy couldn't get the parking lot cleared until later in the weekend and the game would have to be rescheduled to the following week. Strange it seemed upon first inspection, until there was a rumor going around some key Trinity players had a bad flu. Rescheduling later due to the plow guy or the players having the flu? I believe the game was rescheduled a decent amount of days later and Trinity got the key W with a full roster.

Tonight's Big Bedford at Central boys' game has been rescheduled for tomorrow Saturday Feb. 6th at 3:30 pm. Bonus Super Bowl weekend hoops for fans


Tonight's Central at Bedford girls' game has been rescheduled to Wednesday Feb. 17th at 6:30 pm.

Tonight's Hanover at Bishop Brady boys' game is postponed to tomorrow morning Feb. 6th at 11:30 am.

Tonight's Memorial at Trinity game is rescheduled to next Tuesday Feb. 9th at 6;30 pm.

I'm assuming Trinity has a time frame problem with their parking lot plow guy

Portsmouth - Timberlane has been rescheduled to Wednesday 2/17.

2 big boys' rivalry games have been postponed with no word yet on makeup day/time:


South at North

Milford at Souhegan

has anyone heard of any games that ARE being played?

Not around the southern part of the state.

One would think the only games being played are very north of Concord where they only received a dusting, but stranger things have happened with snow storms and games being played in certain school districts.
