Monday Night Dec 22nd

Post  Clancy on Sun Dec 21, 2014 5:00 pm

Memorial Pembroke!!!!!

Should be exciting, Memorial looked pretty good against Lebanon and even better vs Winni.  The Quirkster is putting the pieces together.
Pembroke is good but have some deep flaws.  I'm taking Memorial

Dover Central-  The win streak continues (what number is it at?)

Pinkerton at Salem should be a good one. Pinkerton has a bulls eye on their back with the pre season hype. Salem should be a Top 8 team.

Londonderry at Trinity should be interesting. New Trinity Coach Matt Lemieux will have Trinity playing hard while Londonderry is looking to build on the momentum of their resounding opening night victory over a good Bedford team.

Merrimack at Bedford features 2 teams licking their wounds from opening night losses. Both teams want to avoid getting an 0 - 2 lump of coal in their basketball stockings santa rendeer santa

Memorial at Pembroke. If this was Vegas every Memorial game, until further notice, would be taken off the board. Who's playing.... Who's not..... Who missed the bus...... etc etc etc. I can't even comment on this game because the roster for Memorial is in such an upheaval.

God Bless Jack Quirk santa

Not buying Salem or Pinky yet. Haven't seen Geo play in a few years if he is an elite point guard Pinky is the number 1 team. They have other good guards, good bigs. Needs the drink stirred by a point. Not sure we aren't putting too much pressure on him, haven't seen him as that type of player before (was always more of a scorer)

Memorial Pembroke- really looking forward to discussing PA playing a good team in a good game.

I watched Memorial get pummelled by the third best team in D2. Kabongo obviously did not play. Kabongo is an early POY candidate in D1 if he can lead them to victory.

Re: Pembroke At this point we have to stop kidding ourselves and realize it's not if the circus starts up again, it's when. Who's coaching tonight? Frank?

After my own game, I swung by the Coligadome last night for BG v Exeter game and show. Exeter put on a shooting clinic from behind the arc (9 of 9 according to the Telegraph, but it felt like more) and well almost anywhere outside the paint. Holmes had 38 points - it was impressive. There was a Freshman - Morissette wearing #22 who rained 17 more points. Exeter scored 49 in the first half - thought perhaps we may see 100 on the evening... BG buckled down defensively a bit in the 3rd and got a large double digit lead to perhaps 5 or so, but then Exeter just went on another run pushing their lead back up to 12 or 14 after 3 and were able to keep that cushion thru the 4th.

Mild surprise that Merrimack beat Bedford 47 to 45. The Bulldogs are a confirmed slow starter.

Very surprised Exeter beat BG and scored 84 points. Not what you'd expect from a potential Top 5 team playing at home.

Dover gave Central a pretty good tussle at the Simon Gym.

The Pembroke - Memorial game was tight throughout. Kabongo fouled out mid way through the 3rd quarter with consecutive offensive fouls......hhhhhmmmmmmmmm. Memorial had no Gopp and no Maughn. Makes you wonder what the result would've been IF Memorial had their full roster...... I digress, but it is tantalizing continuing to talk about eligible/ineligible for the Crusaders. Might come back .... might be done for the season.... Who knows scratch scratch

Pinkerton with a statement 19 point road win against a good Salem club. You're not going to believe how BIG Pinkerton is when you see them in person. The number of Bigs they have matches the enrollment number at the University of Pinkerton.

Londonderry continues to impress with a solid road win at Trinity.

Perused the highlights of North's 52 to 49 victory over Winny on NHSP. Winny's Freddy Schaake has some hops with a plethora of blocks and an impressive dunk.

With the results on the girls' side it's becoming increasingly evident there will be no nights off with the D1 ladies. Bedford had to struggle against a winless Merrimack team. Memorial struggled with a winless Concord team. North in a mild surprise loses to Winny. Central still can't find footing after their impressive opening night victory over Pinky with their loss to a tough Dover squad.
