Trinity hosts Central on Dec. 17th? Too early for pre season #1 and #2 to meet don't you think ???
It'd be a lot nicer of an article if they Credited Dave for doing a lot of the leg work to set the matchups, contact the coaches and put this together.  Taking nothing away from Kevin Bonney - he was the one that headed this effort - but its irresponsible of the UL not to credit us as well.

Keefe's quote where they "sat around the table" and organized the thing - yea, Dave was there.

Sorry if this sounds like sour grapes, love that the UL is writing articles about the Jamboree but we were really hoping to get some exposure from this as well.  Moving on now...

Win Win

Post  Guest on Sat Oct 26, 2013 5:46 pm

Do you think Doc. W. Read my post on what a  "win win" this tourney is for the state or was I stating the obvious?? Dave we know you are the man.

If the NHIAA is going to schedule all the tourney games at same time, that mean they will be over.. Take the same teams that the NHIAA WANTS TO MINIMIZE, and reward the successes and hard work it took to get there. have a state tournament. It would be complete within 10 Days of the divisional finals. No spring sport complications.

Think of the money it would raise. The NHIAA doesn't want it. "Win Win"  this schedule would allow for the 1st real state hoop tourney. A thru state champion crowned. And the attention the 16 teams that made it deserve. nows the time. This preseason event should be the model for the NHIAA to see that they are not the only ones who care about the future of hoop in NH.

Coaches not trying to win in this Jamboree.....

Post  Hooper on Fri Nov 01, 2013 5:44 pm

Coaches can say they what they want but....

They will be trying to win these games more than most regular season games. IF PA beats Trinity, don't think for one second they won't be crowing about it all year. Trinity know this, Dave Keefe is as competitive as they come. Neither team will be messing around, it's why they are both great.

Same could be said for just about every program invited. These games will be feisty, no question about it. You don't think that Newport and Conant don't want to prove they belong or the Pelham kids don't want to whip Salem? NOBODY wants to be embarrassed which is exactly what will happen if a D1 teams loses. Jim Mulvey not competing, Spaulding not competing???

The best team on the given day will win each of these games

It's going to be great
Still waiting for predictions

Hoophoop hurray......We are finally on the doorstep of basketball season. Lots of people are talking about the Jamboree which is only two short weeks away. Good matchups for a good cause. I am predicting a clean sweep for the D-1 teams. Portsmouth/Bedford and Trinity/Pembroke could be close, however, I am going with the big dogs. Don't believe the Central/Conant hype. Little Green will roll by at least 20 and maybe 30.

Torn between rooting for the little guys, but predicting all the big guys win.

Honestly, don't know anything about the little schools. Besides Pembroke. Who's good?

Conant is legit, Rob Obrien will probaly be the best player on the floor in the matchup against central. Conant has experience playing d1 teams; they played keene over the summer a few times and had close games, although keene isnt central; Conant wont be shocked by the talent of centrals guards as keenes guard is similar to dickson and hanson, I wouldnt be surprised if conant beat central

Keene hasn't beat Central since the early 1980's.
Not the best comparison to make for Conant playing Central is not like playing Keene.

Central beat keene by 5 last year and keene returns all but 3 players, not 30 points better

False they didnt lose by 10 but either way not 30 points worse than central and its debateable who their best player was, their point guard was their leading scorer with 15.3 ppg and returns this year but u could argue that their big man was

Keene plays Conant every year in xmas tournament, generally gets their butt handed to them.

Who is good for the other little guys? Brady should be tough with the two Bell's. Portsmouth is practically a D1 school anyway, Windham? Newport?

Central and Trinity will be motivated by the event, sorry Conant, sorry Pembroke. You guys are better than Keene but why are we talking about that anyway.

Central and Trinity wins somewhat easy.

Maybe Keene should petition down & Conant should petition up?? So they can play each other in a real game every year.
Central did be Keene by 10. See attached article:
http://www.sentinelsource.com/sports/local_sports/keene-teams-on-the-losing-end-against-central/article_cbe9efad-695d-58f7-af91-c24fe81ee24f.html
Either way neither of those teams would or will beat Central or any of the other top teams in D1

Post  Twenty two on Sat Nov 30, 2013 11:18 pm

Why does everyone diss Pembroke ? In the fall league they beat Conant (by 9) Trinity (by 20) and Central ? Granted Trinity was missing G and Rhoades but Central even had their starting center (football player) Makris in the game and PA still came out with the win. They were the only team in that entire league that didn't have a adult "coach" sitting on the bench guiding them. I'm not saying they'll kick Trinity's ass but give these boys some credit....they read these posts!

Nobody's dissing Pembroke (at least on this site), simply put Fall Ball is great but totally different than in season. Pembroke sometimes does not get the love it wants but nobody outside of New England likes the patriots either.

Trinity did not have all its pieces is worthy to note.

Trinity over PA is not a diss, believe me Trinity will thump a lot of other teams too. PA will still contend in D2

Should be an awesome event.

Did anyone see any jamborees this weekend?

It sounds like we're pretty a little too much merit on who wins/loses in these jamboree games.  They are simply scrimmages.  I'm sure coaches will be getting all of their players into games for extended minutes regardless of the score.  Depth on teams would likely favor the big schools, but keep in mind the D1 teams just start tryouts this week while the smaller school are already a week into preparations.  If D1 schools have a typical 3 day tryout it only gives them 2 practices before their opening scrimmage.

With that said, it sounds like a great event but let's not read too much into who wins/loses in these games.
