Here is what my mind experienced in the Classic Bedford 39 to 38 victory over BG.

It never gets old to see the drama unfold in a state title game. Things you think will happen, don't. Unexpected things crop up. The human element is on full display whether it be with coaches, players or fans. Forget movies and plays. The theater of the basketball court is the best drama of all. The best and worst life has to offer. Through it all after the buzzer sounds there is no bigger emotional chasm than the division line of the joy of victory on one side of the court and the sad utter disappointment of defeat on the other. Your inner basketball soul is revived to see the emotion of youth on full display. 4 months of blood, sweat and tears culminate in a 32 minute human drama and then the emotional flood gates open up for better or worse. BG and Bedford were destined for this State Title game. BG and Bedford were destined for human basketball theater to play out on a magical Saturday night at SNHU.

I congratulate both the Lady Bulldogs and the Lady Cardinals for putting on quite a basketball show last night. Both teams and coaches are worthy of basketball respect and adulation.

Do you write for NFL films? This had everything except for a reference to the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field.

Yes Edge, the voice of John Facenda and NFL films. Echoes of my youthful mind:

Facenda narrated many highlight films during his career with the company. His dulcet baritone was the perfect match for the highly dramatic nature of the footage he narrated, and earned him the nickname "The Voice of God." Probably one of the best-remembered (and most frequently-quoted) examples of Facenda's NFL Films narration is something he never actually said: "the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field" was a quote the sportscaster Chris Berman made up, mimicking Facenda's voice when he said it.
