Sounds fishy, but ok...usernames only.
Re: Division I Boys Prelims
South got a tough draw with Salem. BG-Alvirne could be the best game on Tuesday.

Sorry. All chaulk first round.
In the year when everyone says upset. I say chaulk for the first round.
Trinity spanks young Pinky by 25.
Londonderry is the cure for what ails Central. Little Green by 20.
Keene gets to make that LOOOOONG busride to Rochester only to have the DOMINATOR and his pals waiting for them. Spaulding by 15.
South knows the key to beating Salem is a diamond and one on Ruffin. South by 14.
In a game that has 12 technicals and 9 Memorial players suspended for various reasons {only kidding}, the Crusaders cruise by Dover by 12.
Exeter should realize you don't go to MTOWN and leave with a victory. Close but no cigar. Gendron leads his squad to an 8 point victory,
BG took care of business at ALVIRNE without Boykins. With Boykins BG by 15. Can't wait to see Phillips at the game going thru the Alvirne student section asking "you play football"?
Bedford won't need a buzzer beater to send Winnie back to the beach. The hottest team in division one playing in what I consider the nicest gym in NH rolls by 11.
Next round is where the fun starts.

Pretty much agree with your picks except for two.
I think that South will have problems with Salem.
Phillips will not be asking do you play football. He will be saying you are playing football.

Re: Division I Boys Prelims
Forum Members: I don't usually do this, but help me out here.
I don't know where to go tonight. I'm debating between Memorial at Dover, Exeter at Merrimack, Alvirne at BG and Winny at Bedford. It's like trying to choose a great appetizer to my D1 boy's playoff season.
Throw out records, seeds and previous matchups. I think all 4 of these games will be extremely close.
Where should T & F go ?? ??

Deaf P, thanks for the info.
Quite honestly, at this point, I'm waiting on some inside info with regards to some of the prelim games. Depending on the info I receive and how savory it is, this might tip the balance where I travel to.

Re: Division I Boys Prelims
My choice would be Winnacunnet-Bedford. In addition to the controversial last second win by Bedford earlier in the season, it looks like the rivalry from football is also carrying over. Here's an article.

Enjoy the game wherever you go. I will probably catch some of Justin's call of the Spaulding game.
"Remember, you're having the funeral OF the person that died, not FOR the person that died" (or something like that) -- One of the most annoying ads during Justin's broadcasts. (and I know he will see this).

Will it help that I will be receiving updates from South as they play Salem? I always do!
Plus, hanging out with a D1 Coach doesn't suit your fancy?
Regardless, I hope you have a fun time!

Re: Division I Boys Prelims
Exeter u$ed balanced scoring and limiting Merrimack to 1 shot on a lot of their offense of possessions to win this game.
Tyler Russ had 14 points. Zack Holler chipped in with 12 points.
Eric Gen4ron had a very cold first half but heat it up in the second half and finished with 19 points.
no other Merrimack player reached double figures

Dover at Memorial
I was hanging out at Crusader Way tonight and those who didn't go missed perhaps the Game of the Year!
Dover: 21-29-45-61
Memorial: 19-29-45-60
It was close and back-and-forth all night! Memorial was able to out run, out rebound Dover for the 1st half but Dover kept hitting shots (and Memorial missed at least 6 easy layups tonight) that kept the game close. Dover started in man, ended up playing a 1-2-2 and 2-3 zone for the 2nd half. This got Memorial out of rhythm and whatnot. Memorial did start the 2nd half hot! Had an 8 pt lead after 2 3s from Joel Mayola but it didn't matter in the long run...Dover had Billy Carroll!! Carroll ended up with something like 29 pts. Did everything for them and got to the Free Throw line while Memorial was just flat and missing shots. Dover only had like a 5pt lead at the most. Memorial fought back in the last 4 mins in the 4th Quarter and took the lead with 1:30ish. Dover hit some shots that tied it up or got them the lead. Memorial would have the lead and the back and forth in the last part of the 4th Quarter. Carroll keep getting layups and pull up jumpers and Memorial ended up missing some 1-and-1s and down by 1. They scored and made it 60-59 Memorial and Dover calls a Timeout with about 8 seconds left. Dover's Colin Shaughnessey drives and finds...WHO ELSE?? Billy Carroll!! Scored and Memorial players call a Timeout with 2.4 Seconds and missed the Buzzer Beater Attempt and the Dover Green Waves face the NHSS Purple Panthers! How Colorful!

Re: Division I Boys Prelims
Nice report DeafP.
I'm surprised Bedford beat Winny by so much. This shows you what a roll the Bulldogs are on. Fitz v Keefa on Friday. Well, won't that be the Cat's meow !!
Surprising to see South struggle with Salem at home. Sometimes an eventual champion has one struggle get by the hair of their chinny chin chin game on their way to a Title. Panther fans can hope for this scenario. Dover visiting South..... You have to think the South basketball engine will be running more smoothly against the Green Wave.
I heard Central had tired legs in the 1st half against Lond. They have a very interesting matchup against BG on Friday. Doc v Migs..... Just plain tasty.
Exeter played very well in knocking off Mack. One caveat is that Mack shot very poorly tonight. 1 -10 from 3 land in the first half. I can't see Exeter pulling off 2 upsets in a row, but it is a rivalry game with Spaulding.

SD, I do a KILLER Grover Takser impression - and you'll never hear me say a bad word about that ad, they advertise on EVERYTHING we run!
Spaulding took care of business nicely, have to give credit to Keene's Taylor Sarette, he was double teamed all night and still dropped 20- without him Spaulding wins by 40.
Can't say I'm surprised that Dover went to Memorial and took the W. And don't count them out against South!
Biggest surprise is Bedford rolling Winny. I thought that game would go down to the wire. Trinity will have their hands full on Friday.

Check out my article on NH Notebook on the Exeter upset over Merrimack.
Justin, you will be pleased to know I incorporated your previous career into the Exeter at Spaulding Quarterfinal storyline.......
