NH First Team All State
As the season begins to come to a close and we begin to look forward to the announcements of All State I'd like to voice my opinion on one individual that others may forget about. For three years now Pat Mahoney of Timberlane has played varsity basketball and not won a single game. This season Pat leads the Owls on and off the court. He averages around ten points a game and although that number may not pop out to you, when you lose night after night 10 points is typically a large majority of their points. Pat does this on a team with not much talent surrounding him and although it may be frustrating at times he is yet to give up on his team. I feel Pat deserves some recognition hes a gamer and would surely be a difference maker on any team.

Re: NH First Team All State
I do hear your plea and the reasoning behind it.
Although, Mahoney making 1st team AS would be quite a reach, maybe making honorable mention would be a nice accomplishment. According to NH Sportspage Mahoney has scored 4 points or less in 6 of his games which is 1/3 of the Timberlane season. Truthfully, given these facts, it's not 1st or 2nd team worthy, no matter what the record of the team is.
Like I said honorable mention might be more attainable and realistic.

Although that may be true and I understand where your coming from, if you look at it Mahoney has right around half of the teams total points... I find it very difficult to keep him off this list when you look at the grand scheme of it all

POY
I see what you are sayiong and there could be some truth to it. There have been times when a lesser regardeed player goes to a school and works harder thn others and blossoms. If Pat is a good player some school will find him.
When looking at POY the one requirement that I use is, if I was starting a team, who would I pick???Who haws some facet of the game that makes me interested.

I see what your saying but I dont think Pat deserves player of the year thats a much different award. POY belongs to the kid who is an exceptional player and leads his team the furthest. What I do think Pat deserves is All State honors he has HALF of timberlanes points! I dont care how you look at it hes doing this against every schools top defender. Pat deserves the recognition.

I'm afraid the numbers don't support your arguement. According to the invaluable information on Dave Haley's Nh Sport Page Mahoney has a 7.6 PPG average while Timberlane averages 41PPG. That would be 18% nowhere near 50%
