Thaler farewell show this Sat
I'm planning a very special show for this Sat morning as Marc Thaler bids adieu to the NH High School football scene. We will have an impressive list of guests throughout the program. GNG will surely want to tune in so he can hear what the great ToJo has to say. Maybe Thaler will finally ask him the hard hitting questions? Jack Gati will also be on with us. Can't wait to hear what he thinks of this year's Salem team. Much more to come. Sat morning from 7-9am on WGIR 610 in the Manchester area & on 96.7FM on the Seacoast.

Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
I always flip back between you and the other guys. It would be nice if one show was on 7-9 and the other 9-11.
You can bet I won't be flipping when Tojo is on.
Pete, programming tip for the winter. Stick to strictly hoops.

Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
Will it be a "Roast"? Maybe Jeremy can call in too to discuss Dover Football with Marc
Throw Marc a curveball with some discussion about the possible 5-way tie for 2nd thru 4th seeds in D6 Football... What better way to end a sports career than talking about D6 Football and the "wonders" of the NHIAA tie breaking system (one team could be 7-2 and five could be 6-3 - they've all beaten each other in some way - a comment in the Telegraph earlier this week caused me to look at the standings). Maybe in his last show Marc could give us his thoughts about how to fix all that ails the NHIAA! You might need 2 more hours though.

Thaler farewell show
Hey GNG, the shows used to run back to back...and the other guys had the better time slot(9-11) in my opinion. As far as the upcoming winter sports season goes, I think you will be happy Thaler was the hockey guy!

I think GNG told me he either folded the laundry or cleaned his bathrooms during the hockey segments.

Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
There will be a surprise announcement for Mr. Thaler's replacement I've heard as well. Should be a VERY interesting show with the very opinionated replacement He's a member of this forum too.....
Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
It's not me.
Instead of kissing coaches butts, I would be kicking coaches butts.
Why did you punt to the best rb in the state?
I would not let coaches sweep things under the rug. I would call them on the carpet.
No toasting marshmellows show, but a show with bite, a show with SIZZLE.
I hope it's JEREMY. We all know he is not afraid to take be opionated. Something about Dover comes to mind.

Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
Would Mrs GNG let you to commit to that kind of schedule And even if she did, would the Jade allow you to skip out early on a Fri night?
FWIW: The punter was told to not punt it that way, but he's only a sophomore and it was his first varsity game.

Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
JAF- You know no matter what my appointment schedule is on Friday evening's, I am always up by 5 am, drinking my coffee.
I was talking about the coaches who kept punting to the Salem stud RB last season. The Central and Memorial coaches come to mind if memory serves me right.
Jaf- I look forward to seeing you Saturday night.

Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
If Jeremy is on the show Saturday, maybe he can give us a full recap of Timberlane's 35 to 13 victory over Dover.

Wow, Coach O'Reilly is an in studio guest and is bantering with newly retired Coach Gati who is on the phone. Nice kickoff to the Thaler send off.

Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
Thaler made the statement that in the playoff era in NH high school football that 4 teams were on the pedestal in the Granite State:
1972 Memorial - Chuck Smyrl and Tom Kathan
1985 Pinkerton - Mihalko and Segretti
2004 Central - Philistin and one of the Day boys
2009 BG - ????
When this was put to ToJo he agreed. ToJo said no marquee players were on the 2009 BG team compared to the other 3 pedestal teams. He said, "The team was the star."
Good stuff going down memory lane with ToJo.

Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
GNG will get a kick out of this one. Thaler admitted he was:
"A Division 1 football snob."
Thaler will be placing his last vote this weekend in the power poll. A replacement has not been named yet for Thaler at the UL.
NO replacement was named for Thaler for the radio show.

Since Spaulding only lost to Timby by 1 point, I believe that makes SHS #1 in the rankings!!!
Re: Thaler farewell show this Sat
It was supposed to be announced! Guess you'll have to tune in next week to find out
Filling Thaler's shoes
Not sure where the supposedly planned announcement of who will be taking over for Thaler on The NH High School Football Show came from, but we never intended to do that today. We will make an announcement soon regarding that situation....so stay tuned.

Wow, usually I like to go with 110% Clampdown Lockdown for information such as this. It looks like some one received 49% door is open, take what you want and maybe we'll call the police information on this one.
On another note from yesterday's show.... Jack Gati was asked if this year was a one year thing for the precipitous drop of the Salem football program or if it was long term. Gati said Salem would bounce back and Coach O'Reilly agreed.
